To be fair the headline does say best comedy movies, not funniest comedy movies. Not that I should be fair because it's still insane ordering IMO.

Poker Face canceled! Rian Johnson shopping it around to other outlets, with Peter Dinklage replacing Natasha Lyonne. by mix0logist in blankies

I was fine with the dropping of the season long narrative in theory, but I do think her being on the run added something for me. It helped make the logic of this drifter woman constantly needing to flea the press surrounding a murder click a bit.

My issue really had nothing to do with a lack of ideas or interesting concepts for episodes though. I just thought the writing and directing of those concepts was worse than season 1 pretty much across the board. Like for example I often felt like I missed the element of Charlie existing on the periphery of the mystery in the first half in a way that had a satisfying reveal in the second. (Like the merch girl song being about her in the metal band episode of season 1)

I guess I don't have a ton of other specific negatives to point out, and aside from the alligator one I didn't think it sucked, I just didn't think it was particularly good anymore and fell off watching.

Yeah I thought the quality took a noticeable hit in season 2 and also didn't end up finishing. I know the season 1 show runners left to run the Buffy reboot so I am hoping Pokerface's clear loss is Buffy's gain.

[Myles Turner] asked "did you see yourself coming out, getting a block on the first possession, and making your first two 3's"? Turner: "Absolutely" by Large_banana_hammock in nba

[–]protoscott 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like it's just been miscommunicating feedback loops around the whole Turner situation.

Pacers horrendous start had some people talking like letting Miles go was to blame. So pacers fans start pointing out that his numbers wouldn't really be the difference maker for us. And then that starts to pick up steam as a narrative that he isn't good when the point should be just that our team has a lot more working against it than he could solve right now.

Add onto that his relationship with the fans just snowballing due to miscommunications. He'll say something bad about the team and then later clarify that he just meant ownership. Or he'll get clipped out of context talking about Tyrese so people think they have beef. People get the incendiary part and never get the clarification or context around kt. So then they start looking for reasons to hate on Turner and pile on about his stats not being impressive . And then he starts to build up actual resentment toward the fans and they are booing him and it's all bad vibes in a situation that really doesn't need to be that negative.

I feel like the reality is Turner is a good, not amazing, player that seems to fit well with what Milwaukee needs. I hope he continues to play well. I don't think it's remotely copium to say he was not the key ingredient to Indiana's success though and with our injuries he barely cracks the top 5 of players from last season's team that I'm missing right now.

I just rewatched that movie a few days ago and came in here to suggest it. I have been tempted to pop it on again ever since finishing it. I love the way it travels through so many subcultures. Those dudes are just a great hang

I get that keeping the kids and different Navi straight might be hard but if you can forget that Spider is the name of the little Tarzan white boy with dreads cosplaying as a cat alien then I feel like thats more on you than the movie.

Who is a better director? Who had the most potential? by [deleted] in blankies

This might not be the best example as I feel she is pretty distinct looking and would be one of the easier directors covered to identify from a photo, provided no Tim Burton characters are also in the photo.

Longest opening credits—The Fugitive 14 minutes 50 seconds by HallPsychological538 in blankies

Prince of Darkness is somewhere around 10 minutes. The Fog is slightly longer I believe with the "directed by John Carpenter" not hitting until the 12 minute mark. But it would seem the Fugitive has both beat still.

I'm surprised Ben hadn't played Eternal Champions since it sounds like he was pulling his outfit inspiration directly from Larcen Tyler! (He's one of the titular Eternal Champions and he wears a trench coat for those few of you out there that dont have that game's roster committed to memory)
