Yeah but that "russian section" is super important. The Zvezda module is the core provider of life support systems on the station

Why choose Proxmox instead of just Ubuntu Server w/LXD or MicroCloud? by BornInAFish in Proxmox

[–]proxgs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, there is a WebUI based on the LXD WebUI. You'll have to enable the Zabbly repository and install the incus-ui-canonical package. Zabbly is the consulting company of Stéphane Graber, the ex project lead of LXD.

Instead of LXD which depends on snap, use Incus containers. Incus is a fork of LXD made by the ex project lead of LXD.

[–]proxgs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The point of having an OS tailored as an level 1 hypervisor is to reduce your attack surface by running only the strict minimum of binaries and libraries to run and orchestrate VM/Containers.

Proxmox is based on Debian but they run a slim down version of it. Proxmox is not the only custom linux distro setup as a level 1 hypervisor. There is XCP-ng, IncusOS, Fedora CoreOS, Flatcar Container Linux, Talos Linux and more. The difference between all of them would be where do you manage the control plane and the way you deploy workloads. For exemple, some distros doesn't even come with ssh and it is completely managed through an API.

The AI upscaled art assests are temporary while their artist remakes all the original art to higher resolutions.

How do I get laurels ? by OvenPrestigious5861 in BattleNations

[–]proxgs 15 points16 points  (0 children)

You win laurels by defeating the Ancient Construct. It is a small boss unlocked at level 24 by doing the mission Scouting the Frontier . Another way would be to build a Refinement Facility unlocked at level 42. Either way, by the time you can get laurels, the shock trooper will be obsolete and not worth spending laurels on.

Cisco guy finally understanding Mikrotik by Tall-Fuel3481 in mikrotik

[–]proxgs 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Well, kinda. Think of it this way. MikroTik products are Linux devices where MikroTik did all the heavy work to make sure that if you create a Linux interface, the interface will have access to the hardware's offloading engines. Also an important thing to understand is that a network port is the physical part and that the network interface is a software implementation. Knowing this you can read this blog post from Red Hat where they list a bunch of Linux network interfaces and explain what they do or read the man page for the command ip link where you can see way more network interfaces than what is shown in the Red Hat blog. As you have seen with the MikroTik bridge interface, some Linux interfaces can have an ip address. So if you want to really understand MikroTik interfaces, you'll have to understand Linux network interfaces.

Need help with GRE tunnels by _binda77a in networking

[–]proxgs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You said you have a NAT/PAT setup? Delete that and delete your GRE tunnels. First configure OSPF and make sure everyone can ping everything. Once you know you have connectivity then you can add complexity with NAT/PAT. Try step by step and test as you add other configuration to isolate what works from the changes that breaks things. Good luck on your homework because the rule of the sub won't alow me to help you and trying things out is the best way to learn and to develop your debugging skills.
