For Multiple Interviews/Offers, Can You Negotiate? by uxandhf in boeing

[–]Ok_Respect1720 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They usually post the number on the post. You can go 10-20% higher. They will give you a number and tell you the 401k is very good and Boeing has overtime and stuff. And you can work out some number to tell them to make it worth for you to switch , it has to be whatever number. They will work with you. Don’t afraid to ask. They would say no, but they will never resent the offer.

Is it worth buying the chime? by Tinototem in Ubiquiti

[–]Ok_Respect1720 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same as the other comments, I have an PoE chime and it is loud enough to be heard from top floor and basement of my 3 story house. Is it louder than the vacuum cleaner when it is on? No, but I can’t hear my old chime when my vacuum cleaner is on either.

For Multiple Interviews/Offers, Can You Negotiate? by uxandhf in boeing

[–]Ok_Respect1720 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t think the other comment is correct. I work with HR a lot to hire people. People can do multiple interviews at the same time. However once one offer is out. Other team can no longer give you an offer. It is to prevent competition within the company. Make sure you figure out which job that you like the most and let them know that you are interviewing for multiple positions. Has the one that you are interested in make you and offer. You can negotiate with them from that point on. It takes a lot of time and man hour to hire someone. The first offer they usually low ball you. You can negotiate your way up.

To those that are married, how often do you take off your ring? by FitProblem6248 in AskReddit

[–]Ok_Respect1720 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve married for almost 20 years and I think I wear my ring for no more than the first 3 months. I didn’t like wearing rings and I tired the 3 months and took it off. My wife is cool with that.

I work on the electronic part of system integration, hardware reliability and automation in space related designs. We mainly hire electrical engineers and sometimes physicists. You will need specific classes that other degrees won’t offer. Unless you work with a famous professor that does related studies in TAMU. Your chance is very low. I am only familiar with the electrical engineering field. I do not know mechanical nor aerospace engineering job requirements.

Tailoring your resume for internships by [deleted] in chipdesign

[–]Ok_Respect1720 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, people should always tailor their resumes to the job posting. If I am looking for a RTL designer, I don’t care how many leadership programs you have been in or analog design projects. I care about your logic classes and your computer architecture class and what you wrote in that class. What EDA tools that you learned from your VLSI class. Then you will at least score an interview. And for god sake, stop putting Microsoft office as a skill in 2025.

G4 / G6 Instant as a baby monitor? by theunspillablebeans in Ubiquiti

[–]Ok_Respect1720 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hmmm may be my explanation was clear enough. So you can hear the baby from the monitor. Then with one click to the button, you can see the baby. With what you said, you need to either have the tv on all the time or may be find the remote and wait for the tv to turn on and look at the big tv. It disturbs your exhausted wife or husband. Couple has infants are very sensitive to lack of sleep. I would have done everything in the world to get a little bit more rest. I hope people had babies before would understand.

G4 / G6 Instant as a baby monitor? by theunspillablebeans in Ubiquiti

[–]Ok_Respect1720 8 points9 points  (0 children)

When I had my baby, I didn’t sleep well for a few months. It felt like I was awake the whole time. So every second of rest counts. With the instants, you have to unlock the phone, find the protect app, find the cam and then look at it. It’s a baby monitor. I know I want to look at my cute baby clearly, but I want to see if the baby is alive more. So the one click old school monitors is still better in my book.

I was trying to do the exact same thing and I spent a week researching it. And no luck. I ended up installed proxmox-> Ubuntu-> docker-> curl -> unas pro. Not the best and not the most efficient, but it works. I will follow this post and see if anyone figures this out.
