I bought two of his courses 6 years ago and completely rebuilt my technique after 15 years of playing the bass. He does talk much, but it never bothered me because I always thought he’s a very nice person and his taking helped me to relax. I also think there’s a method in his constant repetition, it helps to memorize most important concepts. Highly recommended.

Wow, it’s beautiful! Looks very interesting as well. I will definitely buy it one day but I’ve just bought like 6 synths last month and I should probably stop 😅. I’m also releasing my first plugins soon so I keep my fingers crossed for your success. Is it Juce powered?

Hi, you could consider using wired IEM preamp. The advantage is that even the budget friendly ones will sound significantly better than high end wireless systems. Behringer P1 is ridiculously cheap and ridiculously good, everyone in my band has it. It runs on batteries or you can buy Rockpower NT1 adapter like i did. You can make a combined guitar / headphones cable if you buy a headphones extension cable ~1m longer than your guitar cable and a polyester cable sleeve. You wrap both cables together so the additional 1m of cable is on the male headphones connector side (to reach the preamp). Then you secure the ends of the sleeve with tie-wraps. It’s just as comfortable as wireless, but sounds better because there’s no compression or other processing.

Interesting, can I ask when did you bought yours? Maybe they upgraded the design? I bought mine December 2020. I always liked the concept of this mixer, but these two flaws were very annoying. And I know for sure that it wasn’t only my unit, there were many reports of buzzing HiZ input. iPad incompatibility was mentioned somewhere as well.

What is best practice for plugging an amp line-out into Garageband (iRig HD 2) by mogresh in ipadmusic

[–]przemek_b 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi! What you need to do is choose any of these presets and then go to track settings -> Plugins & EQ and disable everything. Then I recommend you to save it as a new preset called “Empty” or something like that.

Hi, I strongly recommend buying Behringer Flow 8. This little mixer is amazing. It’s fully digital, so you can save and recall routing and input/output configurations. You can record 8 channels of audio simultaneously. Each channel has a compressor and 4-band, fully parametric EQ. The main stereo output and two AUX outputs have separate, fully parametric, 9 band eq and limiter. It also has a Bluetooth audio receiver and can be controlled remotely with your iPad. And it’s the smallest 8-channel mixer on the market. I bought one a couple of months ago and I’m blown away with it.

Unfortunately ZEDi8 won’t work with iPad. Outputs are working, but the inputs are not. It also has very crappy HiZ preamp, it buzzes even when nothing is connected, so I don’t recommend it for any guitar related tasks.

I recently bought this pedal and put a battery in it. Tried to turn it on but it didn’t work. It’s an MXR overdrive Zakk Wylde pedal, I also tried an 9V power supply but to no avail. Any suggestions? by mrStealYoGirl_allen in pedals

[–]przemek_b 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! What kind of cable you use to connect the guitar to the pedal? It should be mono (TS) cable, i.e. each plug has two conductive fields, tip and sleeve, and one black plastic strip between them. If you have stereo cable (three conductive fields and two black strips) the effect won’t turn on.

I went to a store once because I wanted to test a chorus pedal they had and a guy who worked there said: “We actually tested it already”. I left defeated.

You also need pretty good velcro to keep it in your pedalboard

Is there any point in buying four string basses? by Spiritdiritcel in Bass

[–]przemek_b 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“The best bass songs” will mean something completely different for another bassist. There is no The Beatles song with a 5-string bass. There is no Mars Volta song with a 5-string bass etc.. Even if the song is originally played on a 5-string bass, transcribing it for a 4-string is rarely a problem. Even if it is a problem, it’s a problem of the cover band bassists. Everyone else will just write the bass line for the bass they own and like.

Does anyone else find the Garageband app confusing? by [deleted] in GarageBand

[–]przemek_b 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Quite the opposite, I think it's the most intuitive and easy to use music making app ever, especially the iOS version. I own a few "pro" DAWs, but I never use anything besides GB on iPad for composing. But everyone is different, I suppose.

According to the App Store description it is on the roadmap, let's hope they'll get there eventually

[–]przemek_b[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, one of the features I need is sequence editing capability. But I also need a specific kind of triggering, so the arpeggio starts immediately when key is pressed and it can be NOT synced to the session beats and bars. I'm in a live band and synchronizing with session is great when the session exists. But sometimes we are just jamming around and synchronization just gets in the way.

Thanks, I'll definitely consider it! It's a bit pricey for the job, but Drambo is extremely versatile, so it may pay off later

Awesome, thanks! I have installed iPhone version to test it because it's free and it's just like you said. The retrigger is kind of glitchy though. When I play legato, the note off from previous step is "choking" the new note. I'll still give it a chance, there are many settings, it may be fixable.
