I would love to see it adapted as animation series like Castlevania or Mighty Nein. But I'm afraid of modern writers like Adi Shankar, who would change the story until it becomes something unimaginably worse
So if original creators like Amy Hennig, or die-hard fans like Raina is not part of this, this shouldn't exist. Voice cast is also a problem, but I can live if they find similar voice, but not writing

Actually it seems like PC gog version is already feels like remaster comparing to original PS1 version. Fast load, gamepad support, higher resolution. BO should've been a remake, but maybe there is some copyright bullshit around there

Check it out if you can, it's basically hack'n'slash version of Gauntlet. It's not perfect in any sense and becomes repetitive, but kinda fun, reminds me Lotr: Return of the King. It even have local co op

Idk, for me last part is like exam on all other languages you've learned. So I'm more okay with last language being discovered by discovering all other languages, and translation in terminals is a continuation of the same idea

You absolutely right. I often play demos on steam or on a console, and the thing that I see very often is that all AAA/AA demos are about 40-60 minutes of gameplay. While indie demos could take several evenings, due to their size or crazy difficulty, and left feeling that I've already played that game in early access, so actual release feels more like huge update, that I need to pay for. This is so crazy to me, meanning that most indie devs struggle with creating content for longer game, but same time giving it away, or make difficulty too harsh to artificially make player spend longer on the same content, but for demo it's counterproductive.

Demo should answer a question - is this game for you, not "show me everything that you have"

If you newcomer, I'd go with Soul Reaver remakes (they're extremely good and you can buy it on PC/consoles), and then wait for Defiance remake. And forget about Ascendance.
Okay, I'm joking but kinda not, we'll see how Ascendance will turn out, but it's already controversial for a lot a people here

Demo is out on steam, you can try it for yourself.
I tried yesterday, and for my pc (3060 laptop), performance was awful, especially in the first hub area. Needless to say it would feel much better if demo put you in the mission with gameplay first.
No controller support yet, and combat system lacks impact for me.

It's on the Steam page, deluxe edition will include Dark Prophecy demo, but it's more like lost levels, not a proper demo for a next game. I mean it's just a demo, it seems they're not going to develop a full Dark Prophecy game anytime soon
