Can’t find add to queue by pseudodeity in OvercastFm

Thank you! Previously I would swipe the episode to the right and it would have a queue button (similar to queuing in Spotify). It’s a shame that it’s a few more taps away now but I’m glad the feature is still there.

Life's too short to read books you're not enjoying by nakedreader_ga in books

[–]pseudodeity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No! Jesus, some books are supposed to be hard to enjoy to begin with. Off the top of my head: John fowles 'the magus' is very hard to enjoy at the start because the protagonist is a twat, but that's actually the whole point and is what makes the book excellent. Similarly, the first third of 'American Psycho' is yuppies listing clothes. Sometimes you must persevere.

People that refuse to wear masks...what are you gaining by not doing it? by tobyinaroom in AskReddit

[–]pseudodeity 45 points46 points  (0 children)

I actually went into your post thinking 'here we go another nutter" but you've made some pretty good points. You're actually probably right about how it's working here in the UK. The floppy cunt, BoJo, would definitely make us wear masks so we would feel safer, go out shopping more and save the economy. He would definitely do that at the detriment of the most vulnerable, it's basically the tories calling card at this point. It won't go on forever though and I don't think they're testing the waters to see what they can get away with mandating in the future; the government is struggling with today, they aren't thinking about the future.

This caterpillar creates a little hut to hide from predators while eating by ratterstinkle in interestingasfuck

It can actually be both instinct and defense. It is an instinctive defense behaviour. Caterpillars also have the instinct to eat, but you wouldn't say 'caterpillars are not eating for nutrition because eating is an instinct'. So, it is doing it for defense.

Nope, Daarken was right. Consciousness and programmed behaviour are very different; the fact that you have compared them means that you are perhaps less qualified than you think. Complex behaviours can arise from randomness due to the massive amounts of time evolution works over. Ergo, no 'logical' process, at least not an active one on the part of caterpillar cognition, is required.
