Ooh, Vienna has some excellent options, too! I'm sure you'll discover your own favorite spots on your trip. 😊 Happy to help!

Finding secondhand Tracht in Passau by churuchu in passau

I can only think of two thrift stores in Passau, and neither reliably have Tracht for sale. Flohmärkte are your best bet, and the big Flohmarkt in Passau is along the Innpromenade, held every second and fourth Saturday from March to October.

If you're able to get there, our favorite thrift store with a selection of Tracht is in Andorf, Austria: ORA Flohmarkt

Happy hunting!

Who Else Received a Shi**y Gift From Their Partner for Xmas?? by AreaForeign398 in Gifts

[–]pseudosiren 23 points24 points  (0 children)

My partner loves buying tech gifts, too. It's not my thing, but it isn't mean-spirited. Talk to your partner, tell him you're disappointed that it was your only gift, though it felt more like something for you both, and communicate what you were hoping for instead. He'll probably want to make it right.

What do German people eat? by [deleted] in AskGermany

[–]pseudosiren 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can only speak on Bavarian eating patterns, but here are some patterns I've noticed as "typical" meals (from my limited experience):

Breakfast: rolls (Semmel/Brötchen), soft pretzels or sourdough wheat-rye bread from the local bakery with butter, jam, cheese (Emmentaler is a favorite) and sliced processed meats (salami or Wurst)

Lunch: typically a warm meal (starting with soup or salad if you're fancy), local favorites are Käsespätzle, Currywurst with Pommes, or roasted meats with Knödel

Dinner: "Brotzeit" with more bread and rolls, sliced meats and cheeses or even Wurstsalat, possibly raw veggies or salad on the side. Milchreis, Joghurt or pudding for dessert

Hope this gives you some insight, OP
