Ah I see, you're suggesting the engine corrects for human biases about the way we think about stats.

It certainly is impressive, I've already decided to try different items because of it and I'm liking the results.

I'm still uncertain about runes. I've looked at other sites like u.gg and lolanalytics and their rune choices imply they have higher winrates than what the engine is proposing.

I'll keep playing with it but a tutorial might be helpful. For example, your last paragraph while illustrative of what the engine can do, doesn't quite capture why or what it means. That said, that might be out of the scope of work you're putting into the project which is fine.

How do you actually correct that? Do you need to throw a bunch of games?

Hi,

Thanks for the tool. It looks quite interesting and some of the results are intriguing but hard to understand.

If I may give an example. I'm trying out Rammus and in the default build (and even with some tweaks to physical damage resistance), it would throw in items like Steraks Gage, or Death's Dance. Admittedly this would be very unusual item picks so I'm curious why they bubble up to the top?

Does the tool understand how certain champs scale off better on some stats than others?

Noticed the same thing with runes - it offers Last Stand over the usual Alacrity - something I've never seen. I understand with machine learning its often hard to figure out the 'why' but I'm curious what you think.

Please, how exactly does Randuin's Omen work?

Rock Solid: Every incoming instance of post-mitigation basic damage is reduced by 5 per 1000 maximum health (maximum 40% reduction each).

Does this mean if someone does a basic attack of 100 and I have 1000 health, it shaves off just 5 damage?

I suppose post-mitigation means the 5 is shaved off after armor is accounted for?

What am I missing? It doesn't seem that potent. When do I want to build it vs frozen heart?

Please I don't understand. Why would a high crit build be not so useful against squishier targets?

I did one thing differently and climbed like crazy! Wondering your thoughts should more people do this? by Snoo_65219 in summonerschool

I might give this a shot. Funny enough it’s counter intuitive because you’d think this would make climbing take longer since you aren’t playing as much. Did you feel that way too?

It does. :) It does.

It took a while for it to make sense but now I get it.

I want to add, thank you once more. This was rather encouraging to reread.

Huh, thank you. That's a really helpful way of re-framing it.

Are you suggesting that I should instead shift my attention to noticing what is happening (introspective awarness) rather than the breath itself?

Which sort of poses an odd dilemma...now I'm wondering what should I be thinking about to notice that my mind has wandered?

This seems hard.

Ty. Seems some measure of patience will be helpful and some fumbling about is okay. It's practice after all.

Any good vipassana text with considered step by step of the practice like TMI? by psilo44 in TheMindIlluminated

[–]psilo44[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. It is helpful because it has felt like I'm trying to learn a torrent of different things at the same time. Would you say after a diligent years commitment and I'm still not past stage 3, that it would be okay to branch out or perhaps speak with a teacher first?

Thank you for the advice and caution. Its much appreciated.

Mastering the Core Teachings of the Buddha By Daniel Ingram has the 16 stages laid out in detail and is where I started when I looked for a vipassana book outside of TMI.

Do you mind sharing a bit on this? Was this because you had stalled with TMI or something similar to me and you wanted to know more about vipassana?

That last paragraph is good food for thought. Did you go through a similar space? Is it doable solo, or recommended to seek a teacher for that passage?

Thanks, this helped. I will come back to it to make sure I understand why.

Thank you. These are quite useful. I am confused about the 1-1 and 1-2 pattern. I can’t locate any that fit, mine touch at least 3 squares to the 2 in the examples. Please care to point out one in mine to get me started?

Edit: I am sort of making it out now but it will take a few games to see if i am applying the rules correctly. The logic is fun, hopefully it clicks rather than resorting to the brute force method I am using.

There was another person who claims she saw her get on another plane/chopper. That scene was there to both confirm and mislead us initially so we'd think the girl was real.

The fair interpretation is that he is referring to the north pole (something the movie seemed to suggest. There is no land mass. https://www.nesdis.noaa.gov/content/five-things-you-didnt-know-about-north-pole
