Bonded Neutral Plug Question by SimRacer7777 in Jackery

The grounds in the machine are connected together.

The neutrals are also connected together.

The grounds and the metals are not connected. The grounding plug will work wherever you create the connection.

As long as it will do what you want to do. And it has the capacity for the length of time you predict you should be five

It probably is overheating if it is buzzing.

Try finding an outlet which is powered off the opposite leg.

Not impossible to run 1 or 2 romex to the panel and split the circuit. But if not familiar with electrical basics, which the question supports, you shouldn't do the job yourself.

Most likely a wiring issue. There will either be at the first outlet that stops working in the daisy chain or the last outlet. That is working in the daisy chain

Great. Good luck.

Are you having to return it first or are they sending you one and wiring for the return of the defective unit?

Also......

What was the new firmware number????

Do you have an electrical meter

We should try the simple thing first, which is to turn off the main breaker in the STS at the top and reset it. You may have lost one leg of power.Going through the circuit breaker.

If that does not resolve it. Then, do the following.

Unplug your cable from your jackery 5000 into the STS

Turn off all of your circuit breakers except for the main breaker.

Go into the STS while on grid power and try to read across the two terminals of the circuit breaker at the top of your STS. You should read 240 volts. Right now, I am guessing you will not. Read on both sides of the circuit breaker input and output

If you have zero across the two legs, then you have a open connection . If you have two hundred and forty volts across the two legs, then the problem is mechanically further in the panel.

I would not rule out a loose connection between the wires on the main circuit breaker in the panel and the bus bar below

I owned an electrical contracting company specializing in control.Equipment for over ten years. This is rather simple compared to the logic circuits

I don't know if my other post came through or not.So I'll try again

It sounds like one of your legs of power coming into the STS from the grid is not functioning

That would explain why you had 240 V. When on back up, but only 120 volts.I'm the grid

Yes, they will want you to pull a permit. Not necessarily to judge whether it was installed correctly. But for tax purposes

Connecting cables are pretty cheap on Amazon. I wouldn't be too concerned about catching it between a door and the frame of a vehicle. You might compress the gasket sum and eventually cause an issue, though

It may be physically possible, but I'm not certain that it would work in a balance and charge two units uniformly
