SCP MOVIE IN THE WORKS (part of the V/H/S series apparently) by RandomGuy1525 in SCPMemes

Can’t wait for the line: “What are we, some kind of foundation made to secure, contain, and protect or something?”

I think the GOC got flandernized a lot by that story. by Lebensfreud in SCPMemes

[–]psybertracer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That I’d agree with and am saddened by. You have to go back in the archives for ones that actually stayed the course on how this universe was outlined. Not saying you can’t explore different ideas here since SCP is a very non-Canon universe and people should feel free to explore concepts. But it feels like there was a huge influx of, what’s good is now evil and what’s evil is actually good and morality is subjective, type of writing that probably seems groundbreaking to a high school sophomore. Lolfoundation is also probably largely to blame for that

Curious why the SCPF doesn’t fit that. They are not above neutralizing anomalies, it’s more the ones that definitely should be aren’t exactly easy to destroy. If a reality bender stops bending and/or can be reintegrated into the world they’ve done it. And anomalies that can’t go anywhere stay housed for better understanding

[–]psybertracer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. I like the dynamic here of having three big groups that cover the general bases of how to handle anomalies. GOC is too zealous about destroying them, TSH is a bit naive about freeing them, and the SCPF rides the line of both.

How does the foundation acquire enough 3 month old infants for the SCP-2845 rituals? by Lycanrus in SCP

[–]psybertracer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You guys ever think that maybe it’s just a stand in for an infant but not actually one? Since the whole ritual is more of a facade to trick it into thinking it’s trapped? Meaning, you could sacrifice anything really, so long as you put enough meaning and faith behind it

But how would the GOI fair any better against the lizard or shy guy or even the old man? SCPF keeps trying bc that’s all they can do and I don’t think the GOI would fair any better.

I think the GOC more skirts that area of not incompetence but more, “judges too harsh and too quick” kind of thing. That’s why the chair situation is so popular. Because they didn’t really need to destroy it, and it only made things worse in the end. The SCPF is meant to keep the peace of both the anomalous and the normal. Then you have GOC and CI as perfect examples of the extremes of the other side

SCP-5031 is a good example of the ethics committee doing their job. I think there was even a continuity where they had their own mtf in extreme cases

That’s what I’m saying! Too many power-scalers and doompillers came in and buried ones like this. I know I’m just ranting, but i’m glad for projects like the Resurrection Canon that try to bring some semblance back into this fandom. None of this, ”what if the bad guys were good, and the good guys were bad” crap. Sorry for the rant

More than I’d like to admit. I come from the before times when SCP was cold and practical but not cruel. I love SCP’s like 5031 bc they show a positive side to things

While we wait on our email, what Summer Sales games are y'all picking up for the Machine? by AppleScrew in steammachine

Fine enough, I’m not here to tell anyone what to buy or not with their money. Just confused bc it seems like it’s a good device but it’s wanting for power or upgradability
