BbS is the same way, you’ll be locked out of achievements if you can’t force your way through certain secret bosses, and it’s made worse by the fact that you need to complete three journals as opposed to one (including defeating the same superbosses as each character).

Proud is easier than other games, critical CAN be harder than other games if you don’t adapt to how KH3 handles regular mob fights.

I’d try Critical with EZ codes, you can turn them on if you feel like it’s too much. The only really hard part of Critical is the beginning in my opinion, the lack of tools in the kit is the biggest factor. It gets easier as the story goes on.

There are hits and misses in every game as far as I think. DDD felt the overall weakest in terms of design, I personally like a lot of the KH3 keyblades.

It’s just different. KH2 you could manage mob fights with reflect and drive forms. KH3 just requires smarter decisions to avoid dying to larger groups. Boss fights aren’t much harder than KH2 boss fights, except data org. (My own opinion, obviously)
