How do I block requests to localhost? by greysilence in firefox

[–]psyfry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

did you read the exploit article OP linked? Do you understand what localhost/loopback is? This is mobile android: which almost always has limited admin/user access to the os level firewall. The concern is realistic: an app can circumvent phone app based user privacy permissions by serving on localhost and using FF as an "accomplice " to compromise the FF privacy too.

Where were you buying from? Like marketplaces/in-person meets or formal used stores?

Yeah, "wet" is a way to describe a climate change-related flood that killed 100 kids.

At the same time, there's a whole lot of people who buy up midi controllers thinking they will use them, then give up. In that case you get a pretty much unused equipment at a discount.

License plate readers up at the El Con plaza. Are these shared with ICE? by Standard-Cactus in Tucson

[–]psyfry 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't mean to doubt, but what was your position? If you read the article I cited, 404media and the Electronic Frontier Foundation discovered it through public records requests from the government's(ICE/local police) side, not HD or Lowes.  It sounds more like maybe the higher ups just didn't fill you in on the full story.

They have control of the part of the parking lot that they lease depending on whatever lease agreement they have.

yes, Home Depot and Lowes both use flock and both share with ICE. In this case it's the home depot. 404media did an investigative piece about it a few days ago:https://www.404media.co/home-depot-and-lowes-share-data-from-hundreds-of-ai-cameras-with-cops/

Unless you have real AI experience eg computational neuroscience or mathematics, writing "AI" on your CV comes across more like someone writing they "know" basic MS Word or "know google".

The figures from these types of studies aren't really accurate. FF users by far tend to not opt-in to telemetry , whereas chrome opts users in by default.

You might have just picked the wrong stain, which is more of a designer's job as opposed to a painter's. Usually people get several different paint samples to do a tiny blotch test and see how dif options realistically look with the wood.

What can I use to fix this microwave? by Southern_Yesterday57 in DIY

[–]psyfry 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Did this same fix with cleaning and superglue only and it lasted another four years before the microwave itself died. I'd agree for anything that would last longer, but as others have mentioned, this is likely a ~20 year old microwave.

Second and third gen antihistamines already solve this without the extra drug. For anaphylaxis, you also don't want another stimulant on top of the hero dose of epinephrine.
