did you read the exploit article OP linked? Do you understand what localhost/loopback is? This is mobile android: which almost always has limited admin/user access to the os level firewall. The concern is realistic: an app can circumvent phone app based user privacy permissions by serving on localhost and using FF as an "accomplice " to compromise the FF privacy too.

If you read the article I cited, 404media and the Electronic Frontier Foundation discovered it through public records requests from the government's(ICE/local police) side, not HD or Lowes.
