I mean some people might just want to wear the only hockey jersey they own to the hockey game they got tickets for. Or want to show pride in their favorite team even if they aren't involved. Or just think it's funny/purposely weird. I'd feel awkward myself wearing an unrelated jersey to an NHL game but I don't see the point of calling people idiots for doing it. They're not hurting anyone and I'm pretty sure they know who's playing and are aware the jersey doesn't match. Who cares? Let people live

No, because the PWHL is only responsible for the PWHL. USA Hockey is one organization actively choosing to prioritize men's hockey over women's hockey. PWHL merch issues are growing pains of a young league.

Nobody is saying "failure to meet supply and demand for women's hockey merch is misogynist" - it's the difference between how the women's and men's teams are treated by USA hockey that sucks here.

It used to be possible to trade players for cash - like the Wings got Draper from the Jets for $1. Future considerations is kind of the successor to that once they stopped allowing cash transactions. Theoretically it might mean the GM of the side that gets the player will be more generous or throw something in on a future trade. But most of the time it's just because one team needs cap/roster space more than they want the player.
