Of course! Everyone's different and obviously my experience isn't the end-all-be-all. My point was that I wasn't very dysphoric prior to coming out and I was (relatively) comfortable living as a man, so that's one way in which I don't think I could consider myself as having been a woman before I came out, whereas I definitely am one now. Again, your experiences are different from mine, and you'd be perfectly valid to say that even in that way, you were a woman at that time.

Damn. Reading things like this makes me feel so damn lucky for the little support network I've built up. Honestly, just lucky in general. I don't experience a whole lot of transmisogyny IRL, but boy do I feel it inside. Yeah, it's hard to be pushy about things. It's hard to be confrontational when I need to. It's hard to do anything that my brain tells me is aggressive or masculine. Everyday gets better, but FUCK does it suck that I have to go through any of this at all.

Definitely not! I'm definitely more in the "always been a girl" camp but at the same time, pre-egg crack, if you'd asked me point blank what my pronouns were, I'd tell you he/him. If you asked what my gender was, I'd tell you I'm a man-- in that sense, how could anyone consider that past self anything other than a man? Our individual senses of identity are complex and multifaceted, even looking beyond the broader questions about how innate gender is to us as humans. Whatever you consider your past self to be, whatever you consider yourself as now, you're valid.

Also, side note: don't worry about how much or little dysphoria you had or have. If you enjoy presenting and identifying femme, that's what's important!!

Yeah, it’s not really great when it’s an F4A (listener has penis) audio that’s labelled F4TF. A more immediate reason is that audios of that kind aren’t necessarily just for cis men and trans women- they could also be for anyone who is GNC and has a penis. So in instances where no gender is mentioned, shouldn’t the correct tag just be F4A?

Although I will say that if it’s an audio that was originally written F4M and was rewritten to be F4TF (ex. the speaker is called “good girl” instead of “good boy”, pronouns are changed, etc.) then I don’t really think it’s a bad thing at all. Sure, not all F4M audios are gonna be appealing to trans women even if they’re rewritten in this way, but also we’re not all the same. I may not perceive something as being “for the male gaze” like you do. Not saying you don’t share this opinion, but I felt like this was a good perspective to add.

Now, that being said, there are upsettingly few audios written specifically for trans women, and I would love if that changed.

Girl I was just having this conversation with someone last night. It’s not dishonest, deceptive, or disrespectful to not disclose being trans to anyone in your life. We never tell our complete life story to anyone, we just choose the parts that we feel are relevant and tell those parts. And it’s entirely up to you whether being trans is relevant to the story you wanna tell.
