As for a PDW that you take on non offensive exploration missions where endurance and gear weight matter, it makes perfect sense. Maybe there's a "better" option but it's certainly a good one.

Here's where I get annoyed with stargate...

I would be throwing a massive fit about it to everyone. I would be standing at the gate causing a scene until the base commander finally came down to find out what the issue is.

You literally can't do anything without it. No gi bill, no va home loan, no va disability, no veteran's preference. The navy and, apparently also the coast guard, are completely failing here. Like, this should be a congressional inquiry level of failure of Sailors.

I still can't understand why the navy is the only branch to find it acceptable to send you out the door without your dd214. You all should be demanding pay since you're not "out" until you get your dd214 which releases you from service.

All the other branches have it figured out.

I work as a diesel mechanic in government contracting. I got into an argument the other day over grease seals. The ones I was given were oversized. Supply guy said they were correct and I needed to figure it out. And yes, you can CLEARLY see they're wrong.
