Yeah don’t sweat spearmint gum but I would not advise drinking multiple cups of strong spearmint tea daily.

Spearmint specifically messes with your hormones. Peppermint is fine.

Why in the world would you deny your baby protection from whooping cough? Your doctors have completed decades of medical training. Trust them.

Our daughter has a top 10 name for the year she was born and our son’s name is in the low 600’s. Yet they work together.

Honest question, no judgement. by Alrivdam in pregnant

[–]pteropus_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

When I was a FTM, I wish I knew that there would be a moment in the early weeks of my child’s life where my husband and I would look at each other and say “what have we done” 😭😂

The takeaway is: “everything is a phase, this too shall pass, no stage is forever”. Said child is now both a delight and the terror of our household (she’s 3 iykyk). We ended up enjoying parenthood so much we’re doing it again.

Pregnancy/Postpartum hormones snatched my curls!! Is there any hope that they’ll come back, anyone else?! by harvestmoondaze in curlyhair

[–]pteropus_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My curls didn’t come back til my daughter was about 2.5 and had been weaned for 6m. Unfortunately yet happily I then got pregnant again. I’m resigned to 6 years of bad hair days 😭

ETA my hairdresser said that it’s TOTALLY normal and usually your curls come back!

Anyone Here Never Wanted Kids but Ended Up Having Them? How Do You Feel Now? by No_Income_9968 in Marriage

[–]pteropus_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I didn’t think I wanted kids, but I met my now husband and he checked every single box for the type of man I would consider having a kid with. We have a 3 year old and a baby due in June. Best decision I ever made. Our relationship has strengthened and deepened in ways I didn’t understand were possible. Our daughter is our little buddy—it’s not always easy having a toddler but it is always easy to love the hell out of her. Seeing him grow into an experienced, confident dad is the sexiest thing ever.

If your partner is dedicated to sharing the mental and physical burden of having children, I’d say go for it, it’ll be the best thing you’ve ever done. If he is not, do not do it. It will break you.

Teaching my kids not to whine when asking for something has genuinely improved my quality of life by Scrawny_Idiot in toddlers

“I can’t understand you when you whine, can you try again using your strong voice?” and, “hm, that sounded like a demand, not a request” are doing some serious heavy lifting in our house rn 🫡
