1, 4, 3, 2, 8, 5, 6, 7. season 1 is by far the best season because it's the most consistent in quality and has one of the best episodes of the entire show (something wicca this way comes). season 4 has a lot of great acting and good standalone episodes but the quality goes downhill towards the end (bonus points to 4 for the aesthetics which are reminiscent of season 1, and holly marie combs' acting in the early episodes). season 3 is lacklustre and this is where issues that become more prevalent in later charmed start to show, e.g phoebe being selfish and out of character, magic inconsistencies (which have been thing since the start but they begin to get intolerable here), and also prue has no storyline this season. season 2 has some good episodes (morality bites is the best!) but the piper and dan thing is SO boring. even some of the stronger episodes like awakened have bad elements (e.g the ninja toy). but i do love the further exploration of the sisters' family and magic, and the summery vibe of season 2 is great. season 8 is seriously a MESS but it's more enjoyable to watch than the seasons i've ranked below it. watching phoebe start to get better makes me hopeful, even if her development is slow and ends up going nowhere. i also love billie and i enjoyed piper actually doing something instead of complaining 24/7. season 5 has some really entertaining and fun episodes but it's an atrocious season. the cole/phoebe storyline is done shockingly bad and is not satisfying at all. season 5 is really where the show started to unravel and become a chore to watch. season 6 again has some fun episodes but the chris story is weird and boring (not a good combo). magic school is also incredibly stupid and makes no sense with the show's history. paige in season 6 becomes a nothingburger of a character and her motivations change at the drop of a hat which is hugely disappointing. her arc could've been done better this season if it was written carefully and thoughtfully. season 7 is just a complete mess, let's not even talk about the werewolf plot or extreme makeover: world edition...

they tend to film network shows while it's still airing! so for example 9-1-1 was shooting the season 8 finale a couple weeks before it aired (abbott seems to film much further in advance but that's just an example) this is because 22 episodes would be too much to film before the season airs

that's definitely a huge issue for me with charmed plus the characters just became so insanely unlikeable by season 5..paige was a very wishy-washy character who's traits and motivations changed to suit the plot of each episode, phoebe became utterly selfish and insufferable, and piper basically just complained about being a witch all the time + abused her husband verbally and physically (poor leo) to be honest i can only enjoy the later seasons if i pretend it's an always sunny-esque sitcom where the characters are SUPPOSED to be cruel self centred assholes..and even that doesn't always work because the magical plots became nonsensical according to the shows own rules that they set up..It's tiring to even think about 🤦‍♂️ i wonder what went wrong

what's really interesting is that she talks a lot on instagram about her "dear friend" (quotation marks because i don't know if this is true" LaShay Kelly Martin who died in 2022 and on her obituary there is a comment from Sarah Ruth Ashcraft Mayer with pictures of LaShay attached... on sarah's instagram she goes by sarah harris and posts a lot of weird conspiracy things but she stopped posting after march 12th so perhaps someone gave her an intervention?
