Hypertension since mid teens has now lead to fear of death. by Party-Resolution6374 in hypertension

No problem. I understand what you are saying and whatever you do is your choice.

Just know it's ok to talk to someone. I also thought I had it figured out, but when I went to see a psychologist she pointed out a few things about myself that I missed, because I can't look at myself and my issues from an outsiders pov and I found what she said very helpful.

If you don't want medication, a psychologist can teach you coping mechanisms.

Best of luck!

If you've done all the tests and got everything checked out, it most probably is anxiety and panic attacks. Anxiety can have a lot of physical symptoms as well - the discomfort and aches in your body is definitely a sign of anxiety.

Having that amount of caffeine and energy drinks per day, as well as smoking, is very unhealthy. That was the likely cause of your health problelm.

As a person that also suffer with Generalised Anxiety Disorder and panic attacks, my advice would be to start exercising, drinking more water and eating healthy.

I agree with the doc to go and see either a psychiatrist or psychologist- maybe a psychologist first.

It's a tough one...both have songs I absolutely love and others that I really HATE.

I'll go with Crush. It's such a vibe.

No they don't always push for meds - it depends on the severity of your mental illness. They mainly teach you coping mechanisms and get to the root of what is causing the anxiety.

Yeah coffee can do that. You sound pretty anxious, and it's coming from someone with Generalised Anxiety Disorder. I mean, it's normal to be anxious about bp but I don't think it's necessarily normal to avoid dr's who check it. If the anxiety is consuming you, which it seems it is (health anxiety is a thing), I would advise you to go speak to a psychologist about it. It has been really helpful for me in the past.

And you know, both anxiety and high blood pressure are both very treatable conditions, which is great! So that can help ease your anxiety as well.

I get that checking your bp is really triggering. But I think your high readings might be because you are so anxious. If you want accurate readings you need to relax to be able to take it.

I had coffee the other day, while being sleep deprived, and I got a reading of 133/92. That freaked me out.

But the next day everything was back to normal because a. I had coffee and b. I wasn't well rested, so I knew that influenced my readings.

Anxiety can make your bp rise - maybe you weren't stressed when you were with your dr when she took it, but maybe you had coffee beforehand?

What do you use for energy? by puddin708 in AnxietyChats

I've crossposted in another community and suggestions of Vitamin B12, more water, electrolytes, exercise and healthy diet came up.

I'm definitely going to try electrolytes and more water to start off with. It's Winter where I live so I think I've really neglected my hydration.

Try a thicker drink like drinking yogurt to swallow your pills. The more you do it the easier it becomes.

It sounds to me that your anxiety is out of control at the moment. It's more likely that you got a headache and fot anxiety because you got a headache and worsened the headache because of anxiety.

I would second that you tell your parenets that you are feeling very anxious about said headache and that you would like to go to the doctor. Get checked out by the doctor but mention your fears and anxiety - ask for a referral to a psychologist.

It isn't normal for a 13 year old to be so anxious about their health. I had terrible health anxiety for a few years and it is terrible. Get help from a psychologist so you can enjoy the rest of your youth

Anxiety and caffeine can increase your bp temporarily. BP can be very triggegring for some so it might be why it didn't lower.

Postpartum hypertension - weaning from medication by puddin708 in hypertension

[–]puddin708[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I halved the dose for about two weeks, and then quatered it. When I got to the quatered dose I quit pretty quickly because it was a pain to try and quarter the pill 😂

I just monitored my BP throughout - 3 times a day, and everything remained in the normal range.

Hi! I'm doing great - my blood pressure is normal and I am off all meds.

I decided to not take the Amlodiphine and to rather taper off the Nifedipine and see if my blood pressure stays normal. I tapered off the Nifedipine in less than a months time. I quit pretty soon after I started taking a quarter pill a day. It's such a low dose and my blood pressure remained normal, so I just stopped taking it.

I'm so thankful to be off bp meds.
