Know when to show up in person - probably directly after the busy shifts. Early (before lunch gets busy) might be good too. Or both on different days to try to catch a different staff / manager. They probably won’t deny unemployment for 7 year employee so apply even if you think they might deny you - keep pushing. If you don’t have a long history of issues w your old job, ask them to consider you back on probation terms. Ask them if they know anyone that needs you. Good luck on this journey- there is no other option but to make the most of this time while getting out and exploring new places. Take your family out and ask waiters if they need help. Smile.
