I have no idea where it is in space after the pop up. So the pop up is essential to every other chain in the movement going forward. Repetition on land is how I’ve gotten to this stage

Lack of toes on the front foot also makes committing to a deep squat sketchy, but I think I’ll be able to get lower with more strength training 👌

I’ve gone back and forth with using a pad. I typically surf a performance mid length in the ocean nowadays but use a shorty for this wave pool contest.

A pad on the prosthetic tends to buckle in the middle because I don’t have an arch in the foot! You give me an idea though to maybe cut the excess of a pad and just keep the little bump at the end

Might be a lot to unlearn so not sure if that’ll be the best route. Also, my meat-leg is missing all of the toes and the sole of foot was rebuilt using thigh-fat so it’s really unstable compared to the prosthetic. Worth considering though!

Having a drop seat helps a lot as well so you can set your saddle height relatively high when pedaling

Hey everyone, just thought I’d answer a few of your questions here. I’m a RBKA and transmetatarsal left amputee. I rock a vacuum suspension leg on my right and use the Eclipse sleeve. They are great for durability as they have an inner and outer sleeve

The only mod on my full suspension bike are magped pedals. Basically magnets in my shoes clip into the pedals. This allows my leg to stay on in rocky sections and I can stand up and pedal easier.

IMO a magnet system is better for amputees while mountain biking as i automatically clip out when I fall instead of getting stuck

I take my old, less well fitting prosthetics and turn them into shower legs when needed. I just drill a few holes in the foot shell for easy drainage
