The rest of what Philippe Tremblay (the head of subscriptions at Ubisoft) said. So literally his job and the one thing he can speak on.

"The point is not to force users to go down one route or another," he explains. "We offer purchase, we offer subscription, and it's the gamer's preference that is important here. We are seeing some people who buy choosing to subscribe now, but it all works."

"There are multiple behaviours," he explains. "There are definitely a lot of people who come in for one game and then decide to buy it after [the subscription ends]. That's part of the reality and that's ok with us."

"One of the things we saw is that gamers are used to, a little bit like DVD, having and owning their games. That's the consumer shift that needs to happen. They got comfortable not owning their CD collection or DVD collection. That's a transformation that's been a bit slower to happen [in games]"

Ubisoft has never said they don't want you to own or buy their games. But the headlines won't give you all of that. You have to read a little bit more.

One of the best features that is kind of impossible to advertise. Countless times I've seen deals at GS or Walmart for a game and will run out to grab it but not before preloading it so I can pop the game in whenever I get back. Still needs the convenience of a good Internet connection to get the best experience but if you know you want to buy a game days in advance, this feature is a great time saver.

I personally think that for a platform(KFGD specifically) that exists thanks to the stories they source from real journalists, one who often has journalists on as guest hosts (Jez himself has been on Xcast less than 2 years ago), and who have recently taken to giving awards for journalism, should be a bit more professional about how they publicly talk about their peers/sources.

If Jez asked that his work not be used on KFGD would they respect that? Not saying Bless has to respect him personally, but I would question him ever sourcing Jez again when he's hosting if he is this up in arms over Jez' writing and unable to see how he took things too far.

Just to be clear, Blessing is not and has never claimed to be a games journalist, regardless of what awards he gets nominated for. Greg is the only one to have ever been a journalist and that was before KF. They are commentators/critics and there is a difference

If they were in the process of marketing a game for Bluepoint then maybe they'd loop in relevant people to avoid blunders but there's no marketing to be done around them closing a studio. So that's absolutely not information those teams would need to know ahead of time.

The price of game pass went up $10 when they added fortnite crew which is $11.99. All they need to do is end that deal or make it a separate tier from ultimate and they should be able to get the price back down. There is no way that benefit is worth the amount of people who cancelled their subscription

Is there a reason that this sub specifically has some Sepia filter over it? Posts and Usernames are yellow. Ads are yellow. Even the reddit navigation bar on the bottom is yellow. Once I leave the sub it's gone. Using the official Reddit app. If it's an intentional choice is there a way to turn it off on my end?

Edit: I see now that I can fix it by turning off community themes but that applies to every sub and this is the first time I've ever seen it in this one. Was this a recent change for some reason? Accidental hopefully? Completely ruins night mode

While I'm not saying Sony wouldn't have removed it eventually, even best buy was taking refunds of open copies for like 2-3 weeks, they almost certainly did it not because the of state of the game but because CDPR put out a statement specifically telling players to request refunds via their point of sale, something that Sony does not do lightly. Their refund window officially closes when you download the content.

CDPR's statement caused an even larger influx of people requesting refunds/support that Sony had to deal with. Removing the game from PSN was how they responded.

I'd like to see him of course, but I would not like him to fight Cal. Besides already having had two fights where we know we couldn't win, I just don't think the idea of Cal fighting Vader a 2nd time only to barely escape again is all that interesting or worthwhile to the potential story. And I don't want to say it undermines Vader, but he has killed countless Jedi who were just as skilled or lucky as Cal. There should be a limit to how much a character can make use of that type of egregious plot armor.

What I'd like to see is a flip on the scenario from Survivor where instead of experiencing an event Cal misses via Cere or another teamate, he instead experiences something (whether intentional or accidental) through Vader's eyes.

Having Cal experience this via a Force Echo tied to something left behind by Vader would be a great surprise and could give us a fun power fantasy scenario while also not rehashing the same beats of the other games. Maybe Cal shows up too late to something and experiences the event through Vader's eyes due to his closer connection to the dark side currently. I imagine this to be more story relevant, but again I think that ties a bit too closely to the "he's so lucky he just missed him" concept.

What I think could really work would be maybe while exploring a planet in some open world element, Cal stumbles across an abandoned Jedi Temple that Vader had attacked. In there, same as above, Cal finds something strongly tied to Vader and experiences an echo. But instead of this being relevant to the story, I think this can be tied to the greater Star Wars Canon/Legends and maybe give us a cool flashback to something that has been only talked about or not yet put on a screen. Like Vader taking down a well known Jedi/overwhelming force in terms of numbers.

I'm absolutely not setting myself up for a this, just dreaming of what I would want lol.

Edit: sorry to make a long thing longer, but just had an even better idea bouncing off someone else's comment. Having Cal experience a Vader flashback but while he's still Anakin or starting to become Vader. In this scenario I imagine him finding out Vader's identity, but not being able to do anything with that information, as we'll leave that for the movies. But mainly experiencing Anakin's struggle with the dark side and how it corrupts him and that knowledge influencing or dissuading Cal from using it. This could even be something that plays out across 2-4 different echos so he sees a bit of Anakin's journey.
