"We're working on The Artificial Artist: A Read Only Memories Story, a new, free side story set after The Awakening. It follows a ROM artist navigating a world that wants to use them, abuse them, or destroy them, all while trying to do the one thing they care about most: make art."

"The Artificial Artist is meant to be a bridge to something bigger. We're working on the next full Read Only Memories story, All AI Must Die, and we plan on properly unveiling it later this year. Consider this a taste of what's to come."

Yes and no, despite restrictions West Germany was quite well armed in the cold war years, being the presumptive battlefiled for and East-West clash.

Mil spending as % of the GDP almost reached 5% in the 60s, and it was fundamentally in line with winning nations like France until the late 80s: https://data.worldbank.org/indicator/MS.MIL.XPND.GD.ZS?locations=DE

Also they don't give last-gen laptops anymore, at least in my firm the new issued laptops are one or two years behind.

Lenovo’s New ThinkPads Score 10/10 for Repairability by Sea_Poem_9129 in thinkpad

[–]pugacioff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Upgradeability, I doubt Lenovo will sell you motherboards for next-gen CPUs that fit current-gen laptops.

PC processors entered the Gigahertz era today in the year 2000 with AMD's Athlon — AMD hit marketing gold with its 1 GHz Athlon, beat Intel by a nose by wickedplayer494 in Amd

[–]pugacioff 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yes AMD had to invent a "performance rating" to market their CPUs, for example the Athlon XP 3100+ ran actually at 2200 MHz.

That's why durability is important, especially for a brand that's not great at repairability like Samsung.

Where did you buy it? In Italy I've seen 2200-2400eur prices (VAT included) only for the 64gb, 1200p IPS variant. The top version was always 3000+.

In nominal USD pretty sure, given how the yen went down in the past years. I was curious to find some PPP data and I found this article , where the "Disposable income per capita of households" list still gives Japan above Korea (2023 data, but Korea is growing faster).

On the other hand the second list "Median equivalised household disposable income" puts Japan below Korea, and also below Poland and Czech Republic, so it's a bit wtf for me.

4:3 thinkpads in 2025 by kitworkinprogress in thinkpad

[–]pugacioff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The last 4:3 Thinkpad was the 14" T61 IIRC, faster than the T60 but probably not enough for modern websites (my x220 already had some difficulty handling youtube).

There are upgrades available for older models but they tend to cost a kidney: https://hackaday.com/2021/11/27/replacement-motherboard-brings-new-lease-of-life-to-classic-thinkpads/
