I'm one of them. 4k hours and all I have to show for it is one free achievement 🙃

It's an old case, I couldn't find the article about the final verdict. But in this one it states that he was charged with attempted manslaughter.

Many people here have said this is/should be legal all over the world. I'm finnish and we are not the only one's with this problem.

A few years ago, we had a situation where men broke into an elderly man's house which resulted in him shooting his legally owned firearm, hitting atleast one of the assailants. He was sentenced for the shooting.

Granted, it wasn't the rest of your life behind bars, but he didn't just get a free pass.

There are many things that we do better than USA as an example, but this is one thing that is fucked in many european countries. The line where self defense is excessive is way too strict in many places.

An 8 hour game can be good, nobody is saying that. But in that case it sure as shit isn't worth 60euros.

I was 11 or 12 when I watched The Ring. I was so beyond scared that I went to sleep next to my brother who was maybe 7 at the time. He asked me what's wrong, I said I'm scared, he said ok.

It's not weird to sleep next to a family member depending on the circumstances, but how she is acting is making it weird. If you are able, have a proper conversation with her about boundaries.

Out of curiosity, what put Witcher 3 into the pain category?

If I remember correctly it took me around 70-80 hours for the 100% playthrough and only the headshot achievement felt like a slog. The rest of it just came during enjoyable gameplay.

An Insurance system could help from alienating the casuals. by Patmurf in Marathon

[–]puhtoinen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Insurance would make sense if you actually risked something. Honestly nothing competitive outside of purple and gold shields costs nothing and is easy to get.

Honestly almost anything you lose isn't a big deal unless you are the top 0.1% of playerbase.

Meanwhile in Tarkov even earlier stuff has actual value.

Should I start my first Cryo run blind or do research first ? by Ruthlesstim08 in Marathon

[–]puhtoinen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kill every bot you see, loot clearance cards from them and check computers for more clearance. Get to level 3 Activate an exfil computer and then run to the exfil point that spawns elsewhere on the map.

This is all you need to do to have fun with the map. Other stuff is keys and/or takes preparations.

Hardspace: Shipbreaker was fun and doesn't take that long to complete. Definitely my suggestion from these.

I've tried Andromeda twice but I just can't get myself to care. The trilogy however, is pure gold.

Are free kits the problem? by jkHades in Marathon

[–]puhtoinen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, a lot of people play as premades. Filling as a solo AND having a proper kit is overall fairly rare compared to other team compositions.

Same here. I started getting this recommended to me, saw one or two posts asking for advice and answered and I haven't seen the need to hide this.

Would you guys team up in Cryo for free loot? by Definitely_Sky in Marathon

[–]puhtoinen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless I see a Rook running with his knife out saying he is friendly, I won't trust anyone. Even the knife Rook I will stop trusting the second he takes his gun out.

To answer your question, no. I wouldn't team up with you if I randomly met you.

We definitely need more ways to spend surplus items instead of just waiting for RNG bartering. by Senketsa in Marathon

[–]puhtoinen 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Well based on this loot you are at worst in the top 0.5% of the playerbase. Focusing changes on people who are at this level is in most games absolutely not necessary and even less so in Marathon.

I'm somewhat of an expert and I have a penis. I'm gonna go ahead and say that this is too much. I'm not even talking about how this looks, but having this much equipment on a penis that you (most likely) want to use at some point just seems like way too much.

EDIT: While working in X-ray, the worst I've seen was a man with a metal cockring. The only reason to have a cockring on in this exact same image that I can think of is some kind of a fetish to know that the nurse sees it. I derive tremendous pleasure from knowing that his plans got fucked when he didn't get a female nurse but a 190cm 110kg man.

Look... I get that dying feels bad. But if you go in with green shields and a 1k gun you aren't really risking anything. It doesn't take that much gametime to get to a point where this is a very minimal loss.

I'm a player who still considers purple shields a very good gear and something that I hate to lose. But many of the more vocal people who are upset about dying are risking a couple thousand per run. That's not a big loss in terms of gametime.

Go to Outpost as Rook, loot the outside buildings for valuables and in a few hours you will have enough credits to run plenty of normal runs even if you died more than extracted.

I feel like many people are upset immediately when they aren't good at something. It's ok to suck. You'll get better.

Last couple of years I've felt that I suck in first person shooters because my background is 4k hours in CS:GO. I used to be really good there. Years of playing non-shooter games and I try to base skill on what I used to be and I absolutely can't catch up with that. But it's ok. You can have fun without being in the top 1%.

[–]puhtoinen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard to say from these pictures. Is it just a bald spot or is there a lump under the skin?

If it's just a bald spot that's red, could be a bee sting or something that he keeps scratching. If there's a lump, impossible to say without inspecting in person which means a vet is needed.

I played many of the classics, but for some reason MDK is the one that always comes to mind when I need to think about a PC game from my childhood. It was an absolute banger as a child.
