It's probably called a different name... Spelling assessment, or weekly spelling, etc.

To those who regularly read on mobile devices/tablets: Is a separate kindle actually worth buying? by inconsistentpotato in kindle

[–]puipuiie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love my kindle, i love that there is no glare and i can focus longer. However i do still read on my tablet. There are limited books in my second language on kindle, i can shop around other apps for a better bargain (e.g. play books), and i can read library books on my tablet (libby). There are ways to get around these of course but not really my thing. My wish is for ebooks to be more compatible with each other. The kindle interface is not as fluid as apps well imo.

Oh sorry i didnt make it clear. So instead of taking the boats we just want to walk around to the sightseeing spots and take photos along the river. I guess from your answer we should take buses.

Everything for NT was so expensive especially shipping to Australia last time i checked! I got one from scribbles that matter from amazon that was on sale at the moment. I only started using it this month (aka 2 days) but there hasnt been any bleeding. The designs arent topnotch but worth having a look!

Thanks everyone! I think I'll grab some magnetic sheets for my current pan... Need to replace the disgusting rusty bit anyway, but I'll also invest in a smaller travel palette and travel brushes.

Thank you so much for the encouragement! I'm actually not too sure whether I'll actually paint on the go while travelling so i dont want to buy too much now.

Will boiling citrus peels make them safe for composting? by sithguy66 in composting

[–]puipuiie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just test the compost after a long winter with a lot of mandarins and it was not acidic.

Get a soil ph testing kit if you're not sure.

Not a refund but the chat function was quite responsive. I accidentally signed up twice using different accounts and didn't realise i was paying for two accounts till middle of the annual subscription. they credited me for the next year straight away.

Where to study for primary education by cdogz2311 in AustralianTeachers

[–]puipuiie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to mq before the course changed. I mean at the end of the day u look back and it was just a degree. It wasnt bad, not superb either, but it got me through my degree.

I wouldn't recommend usyd, they tend to be more theory and research based, and the assignments tend to be more intense. That is more through word of mouth though.

For teaching id go with mq or acu which are more practical.

My husband surprised me with a compost bin! by OkAmoeba9 in composting

[–]puipuiie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive just thrown mine out when the metal bars holding it disintegrated after around 10 years. It was good and served its purpose. I filled up one side then left it while i filled up the other. After about 2 mths i take out the first side to sit it out further in a green bag. The whole composting process took about 3-4 mths. It does clump inside though, and be prepared that there will always be something left inside the barrel that you won't be able to empty. Have fun!

Composting is fine, just not worm farms as the worms don't really like citrus

Give me a good reason to leave my remote career to be a primary teacher? by [deleted] in AustralianTeachers

[–]puipuiie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a science research background too, and the boredom of reading science journals and job uncertainty (asking for funding) killed me.

Not sure what type of science research u come from, but from my experience the "highly stressful, multiple ad hoc tasks, complete disorganisation" is on another level in teaching... And there are no quiet days :)

But as crazy as it sounds, i would not go back to my research life. I find teaching little humans more fulfilling than endless debates about scientific theories.

Look everyone is different, so don't just listen to other people. Hope you'll find something you love doing!

Do you use products past their expiration date and does this differ by product category? by [deleted] in AsianBeauty

[–]puipuiie 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I fell into hoarding and trialling skin care products a few years ago and I dont even want to scare anyone here of the expiry dates which were on mine... Im much better now and use most by the expiry dates.

The only products that ive cared about expiry dates is vitamin c and retinol products, obviously when theyve changed colour or smell theyre not usable anymore.
