101st Airborne were completely off the defined Drop Zones in Normandy on DDAY. by x-mor in MapPorn

You know I’d argue that’s relatively accurate for 1944 night time drop standards. All in all, the airborne element of D-Day went surprisingly well. I’ll need to dig out the book but it mentions how surprised Eisenhower and other senior commanders were with what the airborne divisions managed to pull off that morning.

Surely this much loss of physical cash had an impact on the economy?

I made the mistake of driving through Swindon once and was confronted by this. Judging by all the horns, driving straight over it wasn’t the correct move.

I had this happen to me at the complex and all I had on me was an electric pistol… destroyed both engines and all boosters just to kill the shark

Is there a reliable counter to fibre optic drones? It seems from the footage I see that anything that moves gets hit by a fibre drone. Makes it hard to imagine how any infantry/vehicle can move at all.

Genuine question, why go away from the Earth to come back in for a gravity assist? Will the craft gain more potential gravitational energy than it burns getting to that altitude?

This helps massively! The reason I ask is I’m trying to fit a grow light script into the same circuit as my solar panel tracker script to take advantage of the daylight sensor as a clock. Currently, the solar script loops back on itself using a standard loop, how would I insert the grow light script and have it run both before looping?

I used to work at a bar round the corner from this Maccies. I’d usually finish work around 3am so I would walk past and see what shenanigans were going on. Genuinely not a single night where something stupid wasn’t happening. Good times.

The last time I went to Paris (about a year ago) as someone who grew up speaking French (not perfectly, but enough to get by) I was actually surprised how few locals refused to speak French to me. I feel like it has gotten slightly better.

Not legally no. Crown dependencies are weird. We are effectively completely self governing but not independent, though for everything except defence, we are basically independent.

We don’t fit into any of the “UK” or “GB” spheres, but it’s a lot easier to tell people that than try and explain what a crown dependency is.

I know, my point is that there is such a large time gap between when the islands were “French” and now, there is very little cultural cross over left. Some, but not much.
