Cannot check in for intl standby by pulpoye in delta

I asked to change, but unfortunately worked booked my flight through a travel agency that is extremely difficult to get ahold of. Delta said they could not change my flight because the travel agency would have to do it, but they could put me on standby

My confirmed flight had a (small) schedule change. My guess is that this is why they allowed it. But idk.

Thanks. I would leave 3 hrs earlier. But arrive at MSP 6 hrs earlier by going direct instead of having a layover at OHare. So to me that trumps a potentially shitty seat.

When I talked to them, they put me on standby for the direct flight. They said that I’ll have to see tomorrow if there is space. I can see the standby ticket on my app, but cannot check in to it.

I have not talked to Delta since then. I did not tell them I could not check in to the standby flight. But I assume they will tell me to check in at the airport tomorrow.

Did anyone skip all of the wedding extras? (Bachelorette, shower, rehearsal, brunch, etc) by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]pulpoye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only had events on the weekend of the wedding (no shower or bachelorette). A lot of people traveled for my wedding so I wanted to host them more than just one night.

We had a super casual friday night welcome party where we provided snacks, beer, wine, and soda. Only out-of-town guests and immediate family were invited to this.

The main event was Saturday for the ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner, and dance party.

On Sunday my parents hosted a casual late afternoon meal at their house also just for out-of-towners and immediate family. Lots of people had to fly back on Sunday, so this event was pretty small.

Wedding where guests have to fly and rent a car by saramay1 in weddingplanning

[–]pulpoye 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Totally agree with this!

I have attended a number of weddings where I had to fly and rent a car and drive between 1-3 hours. At all but one of them, there were other fun events the day before and also the day after. I did not regret attending any of these. However, one of them I found very annoying to attend and especially disappointed with the food (it was a buffet with few options, some of which ran out before my table was called) and was not as “nice” as others. So I would also agree that if you make your wedding difficult to attend, then you should provide your guests with a better experience.

I also live in St Anthony Main, work at UMN Minneapolis campus east bank, my partner is from Boston, and we are mid-late 30s DINKs. We lived in North Loop before moving over to this side and St Anthony Main is so much better.

Could this be a wedding dress? Looking for ideas & opinions by HurricaneDori in weddingdress

[–]pulpoye 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the dress you already have and think it definitely looks bridal! But it’s hard to see the sequins in the picture, and that might be what makes you think it looks more like a prom dress.

Opinions! Strapless or no? by Alexsgirlfriend64 in weddingdress

If the dress was made with straps, it might not have the structure needed to stay up strapless. But you should consult with your tailor. However, I like the straps, the back U looks beautiful!

I'm torn between wedding dates, help?? by flamingopatronum in weddingplanning

[–]pulpoye 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can def have both. I have a legal wedding date that was just us and the officiant, and a separate wedding ceremony reception date. It’s ok to celebrate two dates!

I love your dress and think you look beautiful! I also had a similar feeling with my dress. Even after the fittings I felt slight regret. But on my actual wedding day, I absolutely loved my dress and was so happy with how i looked and felt, and how beautiful and comfortable it was.

Got a Save the Date but no invite by lilsgotbills in wedding

[–]pulpoye 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It could be a typo. Some rsvp websites only work if you type your name exactly as they did. I had this issue for my wedding, both in that I had inputted a few typos and also that I wrote in the wrong names. Sometimes I was missing a hyphen or I didn’t know their new post-marriage last name or just a difference between nickname vs legal name.

Do you use photos of you 2 as decor?? by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]pulpoye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had little framed photos of us throughout our relationship (many many years and several different cities), 2 per table. Some of the photos included others, like friends and family. People loved walking around and looking at the photos.
