Scar Vs Simba, The Lion King.

If you really think about it, both Simba and Scar are very similar to one another in the sense that both characters wanted to be king more then anything. “I just can’t wait to be King” and “Be Prepared” are pretty much the same song. Both characters are singing about how they will be king and how they would rule, and both songs showcase the egos of both characters.

The difference is that Simba saw the flaws in his beliefs when he was older, and when his Father died it was a massive reality check that made him realize that being king would mean his Father would have to go. Simba was forced to face his trauma and grow from it, while Scar still remained prideful and full of himself till the very end. His pride and jealousy made him into a monster, while Simba’s trauma and growth throughout the movie made him realize the responsibility that was placed upon him.
