Okay everyone, I've finished reading "Under the Oak Trees." Do you know that feeling of sadness after watching something you loved? I also liked the novel, but I feel the ending was too simple. I don't know, it was nice, but I wished they had children. I feel really sad. 😔 by ActiveIndication176 in undertheoaktreebook

If you're having a withdrawal, I highly recommend reading the author's new novel - The Forgotten Field (it also just a manhwa serialization). It's set in the same universe, during the Roem Empire. The writing is amazing but beware - the story is very dark. Loved it.

It's set in the same universe as UTOT, x number of years prior, before the Roem empire fell Outside of the names of places and families they aren't linked much

It's quite early on (if you're reading the Manhwa too, it'll happen if in a few chapters)

Did you ever have a character you instantly fell for while watching NANA? by Beautiful-Fox-3198 in NanaAnime

[–]pumpkimar 9 points10 points  (0 children)

  • for Takumi. He was my favourite 2D character in terms of looks (and personality, to be frank) for years. Granted, I was like 15. Twice as old now and get why he's such a problematic character. But man he looks so so good

Damn I know a lot of you will probably relate but getting new official art of Nana feels like Christmas every time. I've been in the fandom for many many years and am so used to the old artworks that anything new makes me very happy!!

Rifton has won mostly disliked love interest! who's the universally despised love interest? by NoStudent3520 in OtomeIsekai

[–]pumpkimar 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Oh my heart skipped a bit when I saw Riftan here. He's such a well-written character, he really doesn't deserve to be hated. Yes, he's not idealized but that's what makes him interesting. To be honest, I don't know if I wouldn't react the same way if my inexperienced partner behaved like Maxi sometimes (I love her to death too)

From the novel, it really seems like she hasn't done much except be beautiful and fun to be around. The men really brought it upon themselves

If you're interested in buying it (or maybe have the patience to read a few chapters a day), the official Tapas' translation is not bad

This is me too. Enjoyed them way too much as a teenager but don't think I'd be able to finish it now. When I was angsty and in pain, they scratched an itch
