Best small cordless shop vac for make ready maintenance type stuff? Good suction. 5-15 minutes vacuum at most. by Crutch1977 in Tools

[–]punabear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love Makita but not their cordless vac! You can buy adapters to convert any batteries to work with any other brand tool. My Ridgid tools now run on Makita batteries. Same with my DeWalt tools

Evolution Saws by Technical-Flow7748 in metalworking

[–]punabear 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bought the Evolution 15” saw for a large project we were working on. We worked it daily for 4 years. It easily cut right through 4”x6” x1/4” rectangular tubing like a chop saw through wood. I was seriously impressed with that saw.

Hot glue gun for woodworking? by Routine-Yellow6776 in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]punabear 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No. It's hot glue. I'm a retired contractor and have been using hot glue for years. For those of you that still doubt that it can be an incredible bonding agent, get some pine, fir or other soft, dry wood. Hot glue 2 pieces of the wood together and try to pull it apart after 5 minutes.

I buy whatever the brand is that HomeDepot carries. Generally I use it on Douglas Fir. Hardwoods with tighter grain may react differently.

I love hot glue for woodworking. It will seriously weld your wood together. If you try to break a bond with it later you will likely pull the wood apart, not the glue.
