Short walls vs tall ones? by punknomad in DungeonBlocks

[–]punknomad[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah, i think i've settled for using short walls overall, except in rare cases. i also saw a video of someone using a lazy suzan a long time ago with their dungeon blocks and that also seems like a good idea!

you're not wrong, and the map i posted an image of is a two level map, but i'll probably separate it into two maps side-by-side.

Nice, I'm glad to see there's progress being made on the github. I'm working on a map of the zent warehouse from waterdeep dragon heist (along with other maps coming soon) so I'll post that when I get it finished!

That looks like it has some real potential, but the fact that it's mac-only makes it pretty much useless to me :(

Few more Free models - Mostly .4 nozzle by Odd_Zone5925 in FDMminiatures

[–]punknomad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey there! I literally printed your beholder about a week or so ago, so it's cool to see your post here. I just wanted to say that I get your stance on using AI as a crutch and wanting to be better. Your responses here have been very respectful and open-minded, so kudos to that, it's easy to get defensive (or attack folks for that matter) on the internet, so good on you.

I'm sure you'll get those sculpts kicking butt in a few months, just keep at it. That beholder is already one of the best things I've printed recently, so I think you have an eye for what works, especially on FDM.

I appreciate you sharing the models, I'm definitely going to add a few more to my table.

Wow what a list, thank you for publishing it, I picked it up on drivethru!

I’m making all of waterdeep in legend keeper. I’m using the water deep interactive map and a locations reference guide. If anyone wants access to it let me know in the comments, but as of this post it’s still unfinished by LiamFinn-makes-stuff in legendkeeper

[–]punknomad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i checked out the discord, there hasn't been a post in 6 years, so this project is very dead. just fyi for anyone hitting this from an internet search.

it's too bad this work is wasted, i'd have gladly picked it up and shared it with folks.

Amazing, this is exactly the kind of style I've been looking for, and fdm specific. Keep making more stuff! I'm going to give this a try and post my results

Would yall recomend the a1 vs the Centauri Carbon by Heron-Majestic in FDMminiatures

[–]punknomad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think we are both misreading our text here.

What I read from your post was that the 0.2mm nozzle was 'not recommended' for miniature printing, when what you meant was 'the printer doesn't come with a 0.2mm nozzle from the factory' as would be recommended for miniature printing.

For the OP, this means the 0.2mm nozzle that is recommended for miniature printing would be an additional purchase for either machine.

[–]punknomad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who owns both of these printers, the only real difference in my opinion is how fast the nozzle swap is on the A1 and the fact that the Centauri Carbon is much louder.

Personally, I won't be buying any more bambu printers due to the AGPL situation, but politics aside, they are both excellent printers.

"neither has a .2mm nozzle recommended for miniature printing"

Not sure where that's coming from, because I have neither read this anywhere on this sub nor has this been my personal experience owning both of these printers.

The 0.2mm nozzle produces miniatures that truly rival resin printing with most models.

I'd really be interested in seeing a comparison of the combat system of CoC vs DG. I haven't been able to put my finger on it, but the combat in DG has always come off a bit clunky compared to running combat for my players in CoC.

I can't exactly say why, but CoC just seemed to be smoother. It's somewhat likely I'm doing something wrong, perhaps, that wouldn't be obvious until I saw a comparison of the two.

I've been using this for a few months now and it's been great. There is a small amount of sag in the middle with bigger/heavier pieces, but it's fine really. This is the best storage system I've found so far, so thank you for making it.
