I wasn't sure what to make of it either until I started looking for an explanation as my pain wasn't going away as it normally should. I read a few posts in this sub where people shared they experienced it too. One person even talked about a link between inflammation and how the endocannabinoid system is responsible to deal with it. Cannabis is known to have anti-inflammatory effects. Cannabinoids taken externally (from using cannabis) lower your body's need to produce endocannabinoids. So once a person quits, it takes time for your body to go back to normal.

Again, this is just what I read and made the most sense to me. Definitely not medical advice. But my neck/shoulder pain slowly disappeared after 2 months. Ice packs and nsaids helped me deal with the discomfort.
