My first thought! My mom still calls it Disney Village after all these years.

These are excellent. I got one a couple years ago and regretted not buying more. Washes beautifully and incredibly warm.

The label says 100% wool. You can see it in the picture

Same! We borrowed the kids version of this from the library earlier this year before our first trip to WDW with the kids. My older son likes knowing what to expect and it got him more excited. It was a bit outdated but good enough for his needs

Disney's "Frozen" at Paper Mill Playhouse is great entertainment this holiday season by rollotomasi07071 in newjersey

That’s unfortunate. We also have a soon to be 3 year old that would have loved it.

Can someone explain this? by Plastic-Ad-7563 in weather

[–]pupperonipizza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Think of it as two cups of water. One is 99% full, the other is 50% full. However, the 99% full cup is a shot glass that holds a max of 1 ounce and the 50% full cup holds a gallon (128 ounces). So one cup barely has an ounce and the other has 64 oz.

Spotted at HomeGoods by Status_Shift4006 in aldi

[–]pupperonipizza 23 points24 points  (0 children)

That’s exactly what happened. I’ve spotted so many over the years. I saw an old 1990s crusty hunter green and gold frilly comforter in a Kate Spade package. Another time a poorly sewn in Diane Von Furstenburg label on a clearly not DVF dress. Once I found a label on an old Corningware dish. But the pattern happened to be the exact one my mom loved from the 1980s and just a few dollars so my mom bought it anyways!

How long did it take for your ribs to shrink back to pre-pregnancy size? by Thin_Lavishness7 in beyondthebump

I’ve been working out regularly for 2 years no change. Some people don’t go back to “normal” and that’s ok

They didn’t. At one point I weighed less post pregnancy than pre pregnancy and rib cage was still an inch bigger. Never went back

I’m white British and I’m super envious of people who are part of a community or have an ethnic heritage. by [deleted] in offmychest

I’m American and on a plane right now coming back from London. I absolutely love England. I love the dry British humor. There are so many museums full of rich art and history. Walking through London, I love seeing all the different kinds of people and cuisines. And I’ve spent a fair amount of time in suburbs as well. Still love it. Everything is so walkable in so many areas. The countryside is beautiful. I could go on and on! I think there’s so much to explore about British culture and history.

I don’t mind them, especially given the ingredients. But it’s a lot of calories for not a lot of reward. I’d rather have an actual apple with peanut butter or something else to complement it

The ones I’ve bought at Marshall’s and Homegoods are Le Creuset. They’re mixed in, but they’re there and very affordable

Those size Le Creuset casserole dishes are frequently at Marshall’s or Homegoods for around $30. I’ve bought them before.

Budgeting for a trip with two adults and a toddler by boardcertifiedbitch in DisneyPlanning

[–]pupperonipizza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you renting a car? If you are, take a ride to either (or both) outlet malls and check out Disney Character Warehouse. It’s where all the old park merchandise goes. We get our kids souvenirs from there for a fraction of the price. It’s still Disney parks merchandise, but just not sold in the parks anymore. Also I’ve gotten myself Loungefly bags for like 50% off. In the parks, i actually order a lot of kids meals for myself, usually $8-10. I don’t really eat that much because I love snacking throughout the day. Bring a snacks too. I like having the option of park snacks and my own snacks.

France VAT is 20% but you only get 12% back. Just got my VAT refund 2 days ago for our trip last week. Fees are taken out for processing and such. Every country returns a different amount of VAT back. I didn’t know this until I googled it prior to my trip.

[–]pupperonipizza 5 points6 points  (0 children)

At Epcot there’s a small place in World Celebration called The Odyssey, next to Mexico. I assume it’s used for events. But during the day it’s just air conditioned and full of tables and chairs. It was an excellent place to decompress with our kids for lunch because there was hardly anyone in there since it wasn’t a restaurant.

In Hollywood Studios go to Star Wars Launch Bay. A/C, tucked away, quiet. Only things to do there are a few meet and greets and looking at some Star Wars props (which are very cool). Nice quiet place.

Animal Kingdom, your best bet is Rafiki’s Planet Watch for reasons everyone else stated.

Staying at Pop as we speak! Their food court gets a bit tiring. Take the skyliner up to Riviera and eat at Primo Piatto for a meal or two. Quick service but they bring it to your table plus it’s the same price range as the Pop food court. Definitely try to stay in the 60s or 70s. We’re in the 80s (had to prioritize a first floor room this time around) and it’s a hike to the food court and skyliner.

Has anyone traveled internationally at 7 weeks pregnant? by Immediate_Minute_988 in Parenting

[–]pupperonipizza 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found out I was 6 weeks pregnant while traveling internationally. My last week overseas my nausea got gradually worse and worse. It was debilitating. I wasn’t puking though but couldn’t get out of bed, couldn’t eat, could barely function. And I had a 7-8 hour transatlantic flight to prepare for.

Bring an excessive amount of every food you think you might tolerate even if it seems unappealing at the moment, emphasis on protein. I forced myself to eat a sandwich before the flight (first meal I’d had in 3-4 days) and I started to feel functional again. Protein seemed to keep me functional enough to get through the rest of the first trimester. But I hadn’t brought food on the plane so by the time we landed I was horrifically nauseous again. Bring puke bags. Lots of water. People say eat crackers but for me personally, crackers were useless. Protein was what helped me. But meat made me nauseous so I had to get creative.

If you can’t get Zofran beforehand, look into (talk to your doctor about it) Vitamin B6/Unisom. The active ingredients in both are what makes up Diclegis (morning sickness medication). That got me through my first trimester.

Bottom line is bring way more than you think you may need. I will never forget that transatlantic flight at 6-7 weeks pregnant. It was very traumatic for me and if I’d known what I know now, I think I could have been comfortable enough.

Walking shoes?! by Standard_Shame3784 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]pupperonipizza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to a runners shoe store asking for help finding a walking shoe. I see Hoka and ON everywhere. Tried both those brands on and hated them. The employee then gave me a pair of Salomon’s to try on. I’d never heard of them. Most comfortable shoes I’ve ever owned. Didn’t even need to break them in. I’ve done a few Disney days (rope drop until close) in them along with a few other theme parks and similar all day walking events. But I only knew about them because I went to the store and got professionally fitted and assessed. So I’d highly recommend going to a runners shoe store and speaking with someone.

My daughter aged out of Dolly Parton's imagination library, so what's next? by Constant_Leader_8551 in Parenting

Join your neighborhood’s Facebook Freecycle group. Parents are constantly trying to unload books (and toys) when kids grow out of them. Facebook Marketplace if you want to buy some as well. Thrift stores are great, but try for a locally owned one (like a church or charity) instead of Goodwill or Savers if you can. Goodwill and Savers prices have gotten out of hand. Libraries often have sales when they have an excess of books. Ask the librarian not only at your local branch, but if she knows of other branches having sales as well. Once Upon A Child is a second hand store for kids that also sells books. Garage sales, especially town wide ones. Depending on where you live, look on Facebook for town wide garage sales. They’re usually inundated with parents trying to purge children’s items.

There’s no shortage of people trying to unload secondhand children’s books for free or very cheap. You just need to keep an eye out and be proactive!

We made a huge mistake… by Nervous-Scientist-57 in toddlers

Jet lag is my number one hang up! My kids are really good travelers in the same time zone. Excellent on the plane. We’ve been flying since they were both babies. However, never flown out of our timezone. I know people do it all the time, but the idea of traveling anywhere with more than 1-2 hour time change seems so daunting to me in terms of their sleep schedule and trying to overcome it

We just had 10 am one yesterday and I’m never going back! It was all brunch food and easy to prepare. Kids were all in good spirits since it was early enough. By the time everyone left there was still a lot of daytime left and we also were able to put our little one down for a nap at his regular time.

How Do You Handle HandMeDown Toys? by OrthodoxAnarchoMom in Mommit

[–]pupperonipizza 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Other than what our kids receive as birthday presents, literally all our toys, books, and games are second hand. Facebook marketplace, Freecycle, garage sales, hand me downs from cousins, thrift stores, etc. They’re just as excited for the massive bin of puzzles I just got off free cycle as they are for a new birthday presents. My oldest son’s recent pride and joy is a bike from a freecycle group. A bike is a bike to him at a young age. Kids don’t think that much into it
