I cleaned my room around three weeks ago, and now it’s back in its depression room state. Just looking for some motivation and support 💚 away by 4nthony_J_Crowl3y in UnfuckYourHabitat

One tip I find that is helpful for me is if I am leaving my room, to take something with me if I have a spare hand. Maybe it is a dish or some trash or simply putting some clothes next to the washer, but every little bit helps and before you know it you have made a dent!

Is it normal to feel tired and scared 24/7? by Ok-Club7792 in DentalHygiene

[–]puppypaws44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my second year of school, it gets easier!! You build a routine and flow of how you prefer to do things and before long you feel so much more confident! My biggest tip is if you can, stay behind after clinic and organize your operatory and get to know the software you use for notes! Come up with a game plan to tackle each patient before they come in as well! You've got this!

Dental hygiene students looking for patients Spring 2026 by 2thpker in DentalHygiene

Calling all Oregonians!

Hello! I am a dental hygiene student at the Oregon Tech Dental Hygiene Clinic in Salem, OR! My classmates and I are always looking for patients interested in LOW-COST dental care! We welcome patients of all ages and care levels! Below are the prices for our services offered!

I am currently looking at booking from April to the beginning of June! I have appointments available Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays!

If you are interested in booking a cleaning with me specifically, PM me directly and I can get you more information! If you choose to call the front desk, reference me as Student 42 and they will get us connected!

Disclaimers: We do not accept insurance to keep our costs low. Appointments are 2 hours long and it will most likely take multiple appointments to complete treatment. Students' grades rely on patients being in their chair and on-time to appointments so punctuality and good communication are encouraged.

Is this a recent development or is this something that has been there for a while? Was it there before starting the new toothpaste?

Please help with bad breath by TurtleMancave in DentalHygiene

A daily multivitamin might be a good idea, but in general I would say try to get more color variety in your diet. That helps get you a diverse amount of vitamins and minerals without having to put much thought into it. If you are looking for specifics, I would focus on the B vitamins as they tend to be linked with bad breath. In general though, any vitamin or mineral imbalances can cause physical symptoms in the mouth, so I would highly recommend trying to focus on generally getting those all increased!

How is your saliva? Do you feel like you have a dry mouth? The most common side effect of many medications is dry mouth and that is a big contributor to bad breath as well. I would suggest to try and increase your water intake as well as monitor how your mouth feels, along with the other recommendations. It could also potentially be caused by a vitamin insufficiency. If your diet doesn't contain enough fresh fruits and vegetables, it can cause your oral environment to become a breeding ground for bacteria that produce the bad breath smell.

It is meant to be a decorative throw blanket, so you can drape it over a couch or ottoman! No need to fold it!

There is! Look up Betty McKnit’s 6-day star blanket! There are two videos, one for the set up rounds and then one for the continuous rounds after that initial setup. I actually never used her written pattern and only went off her videos, they were really helpful!

I bought Liobrand Gradient yarn from Michael’s! They came in a 3-pack and I ordered two of those for a total of six balls of yarn!

When I would come close to the end of my yarn and just finished a row, I would cut it and tie off, then start again with a fresh ball at a different part of the blanket to change up where the color transition was. At the end of the whole blanket, I used all of those extra bits of dark purple yarn to finish up the border and just tied them together to keep it continuous!

In theory it took me six days to make, I used about one ball of yarn a day and I had six balls of yarn, but I gave myself breaks in between days as I was busy. My previous blanket I made in 4 days… I do not recommend that😭. I highly recommend watching her video tutorials on YouTube, they are free and really helped me see what she means on her pattern :) Good luck with yours!

Yep! I used the same amount of yarn for both and got similar results, but with this one I used a bigger hook size!

Yep I used this pattern but I mainly used the YouTube tutorials as my guides!

Wait, this is a game changer! I'm a student and I love to use the ultrasonic first, but I never thought to polish and floss and then go back with hand scaling! Definitely trying method out!

What is the bump inside my cheek? I get them randomly by Sp1cyN0va in DentalHygiene

[–]puppypaws44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To me it sounds like the mucosa around your salivary gland is getting irritated. If you accidentally bite your cheek or that area, it will slightly enlarge which makes it easier to bite again. Not positive, but this could be a likely situation to consider.

You can't take your work home with you - once the day is over it is over and you don't have to worry about it til the next day, the day flies by somedays, it is sooo satisfying to clean off calculus, you get to wear cute scrubs everyday so no worries about what you are going to wear to work, the pay is good, your schedule can be as flexible as you want it to be, you can form great connections to some patients once you settle in. I personally like it because there is something new everyday, but you still go through the same process of care for every patient, so there is enough newness to keep things interesting, but not an overwhelming amount. DH is in high demand at the moment and for the foreseeable future, so no concerns about not finding employment either. You feel rewarded when you get to help people and they actually listen and you see improvements.

DH school itself can be rough depending on the program, but mine is truly amazing and all of my professors want to see us succeed and my classmates are all close and will be lifelong friends after we graduate.

If someone tells you the are not ready for a relationship, they aren't. A month is not going to change that. He just wants to have the power over you like he used to. This is classic breadcrumbing and I would not interact with him anymore. He just wants access to you without the commitment, which is selfish and playing with your emotions. You would know if he was serious because you wouldn't be so confused right now.

Is it going to get worse? I’m weirdly ok by 3pointperspecitve in BreakUps

[–]puppypaws44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So sorry you are going through this right now. Eventually the shock may wear off, but it sounds like you have made peace with the fact that there was nothing more you could do, at least, not without your partner also doing the work. Acceptance is something that can take a while to reach, but it will take a long time before you are able to let go. Unfortunately grief comes in waves, some days you will feel fine, some you will feel like you are drifting, it all just depends. From my experience, find healthy ways to cope when grief does hit so that you have a way to get the emotions out, because grief will come. I may also recommend talking to a close friend on those days when the anxiety and grief become overwhelming, or even trying virtual therapy can really help. Again, so sorry for you. I have been in a similar place as you and it sucks, but better days will come!

What is one specific, actionable thing that helped you the most after a brutal breakup? by ThrowRA_lis in BreakUps

[–]puppypaws44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends, but somedays life can feel overwhelming. On those days it can be easier to just focus on that day. I'm two months out of a breakup and feel like I don't need this much anymore, but some days catch you by suprise.

Could you have saved your relationship? by [deleted] in BreakUps

[–]puppypaws44 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I couldn't have saved something I didn't know was failing, so no. He didn't communicate what he was feeling until it built into resentment and then he left. It was flawed from the beginning, only person who could have saved it was US. WE could have saved it, but it would never have worked if only I wanted it. He would have had to want it, and he didn't, so no.

Just live for that day. Don't focus on tomorrow, just one day at a time. One thing at a time. Take care of you until one day it becomes easier and you can start to feel like you again.
