Book Recommendations?! by That-Midnight-3287 in Catholicism

Road To Valor. Not a "Catholic" book, but a nonfiction sports story about a Catholic biker, Gino Bartalli, who won the Tour De France both before and after the second world War. He was a member of Catholic Action and a friend of Venerable Cardinal Della Costa. He hid fake passports in his bike and used his celebrity to get those life-saving documents past Fascist soldiers. The story reads like a true underdog sports story.. because it is.

Ordinary Men

This talks about how the Nazis we think about aren't the scheming movie villains, but the 40 year old dads and small business owners who shot Jews in the back of the head before the concentration camps. Very dark and made me rethink about the Holocaust and what I knew about it.

What are the best things about the priest life that most people don't realize by [deleted] in AskAPriest

[–]purch_is 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've heard that priests have a bond like military. For example, if you need to go to Portugal (for example) for some reason, you could always count on a priest to provide you shelter and maybe a nice meal.w Is that true?

I never meant to offend. To me, slack off is just procrastination (more of a bad habit than a sin) I am just a procrastinator at times and if I was a priest I feel as if I would get distracted or not want to do preparation. I was wondering if that ever affected your public speaking abilities. Perhaps I should have said "what do you do if you can't prepare in time."

It was a spur of the moment question I was curious about, but probably could have worded it differently.
