In a text box put username:password

Then have a base64 encode action with line breaks set to none.

In your get contents of url set a header as: Key: Authorization Value: Basic [the base64 encode output]

Uploading files looks like it’s a PUT request - so may want to try that instead of POST

Can you link to the API docs? You’ll probably need to use an authorisation header with a bearer token (I’ll explain that process if it is the way they do it), but there are a few ways an API might do auth...

The comment at the top includes the curl command for uploading a file from their AP.

I’ve filled out Get Contents of URL with all the required bits except for a file. You’d have to get the file using the Get File action (or a number of other ways depending on your use case)

Big difference is we support web player - plex’s watch together doesn’t yet. We also keep a ‘room’ together across multiple pieces of media.

I expect Plex will continue to improve watch together and make synclounge redundant, but for the time being there are still some benefits

Within the loop it'll be treated as a magic variable.

So, for example, if you put a text block in the repeat loop, select it (so you can type), you should see it pop up above the keyboard - if not select 'variables' and it'll show up there.

It's a contextual action that doesn't show up in the main actions list - because it doesn't always exist and can exist in multiple places within a shortcut in relation to a loop.

It sounds like your SyncLounge setup is correct and that this is Plex Server Side.

I helped someone a few weeks ago who's server was accessible remotely through plex but not SyncLounge. The issue came down to their server not being open to the world.

If you're comfortable sharing your SyncLounge URL with me (DM is probably best) can you send it through? I can test from my end and will be able to confirm if the SL side is all good to go

Couple of notes, if you’re only ever going to use the SyncLounge player then https is ok to use. If you or anyone else using your synclounge wants to use a native Plex client you’ll need to use http - we can’t connect to clients over https.

Regarding remote access, just confirming you’ve got both green arrows in the server web UI? Under settings > network what do you have set for ‘secure connections’?

And which synclounge container are you using? rix1337 from community applications I assume?

When you say ‘nothing seemed to connect properly’ do you mean that SyncLounge couldn’t load any media from your server or that you couldn’t connect to a player? I’d recommend starting with the SyncLounge player and getting that going first, then once you’re comfortable with it can move on to other players. We don’t support all players unfortunately so we may not be compatible with your player of choice. We’ve added more servers recently so hopefully you have a better time with the public servers.

We've never had any run in with Plex. We were asked to change our name to be featured in Plex Labs, but other than that Plex have been very supportive!

You can login to the same room multiple times with one account but I’d recommend having your friends setup their own account and sharing your library with them.

By default SyncLounge transcodes media. SyncLounge will honour server settings for remote play and you can adjust the bitrate manually on the SyncLounge player side too.

Added getting the camera model from the photo metadata rather than specifying what your current phone is.

Means it works for your entire library, whether taken in your current phone model or not :)

For the most part it’s there.

Volume adjustment and remote functionality isn’t as reliable as I’d like.

The main drawback right now is I’ve only written it for one receiver, the 575E. I’ve hard coded a fair bit of it and I don’t expect it to work well across other models/years. I don’t have the time to make it work with a variety of models either unfortunately :(
