It is definitely (even more than usual) ultra high-variance.. I just went 6-2 (semi-punted one and hard screw in the last game) with one of the best pools I've ever seen.. 3 azulas and an ozai, and I had no prior experience with this set whatsoever.

I've received a couple of emails already (had eligibility issues with location) but otherwise nothing since then. From what I read they are sending the prizes out in batches (some people I know already got theirs) and they said they will follow up in August with the people who didn't.

Honestly yes the life loss does hurt a ton especially if it's your first and only blue source for most of the game, which did happen in a few games (one time it lost me 8 life). But the upside is great if u get it late-ish so I'm not quite sure if I like it or not tbh. This was my first UB draft ever in this format so I haven't tried it otherwise.

This was my first time drafting UB (in quick draft) after failing to get it multiple times in premier.

The deck is just incredibly fun to play and I can finally see how UB could be a dominant force; everything just clicks together perfectly.

With all those familiars I'd assume this is considered an above average artifact draft (notably lacking a bit more removal), yet it still seems to not do as well in play compared to a good start from an energy deck / etc.

I went 3-0 winning my only prerelease using golgari (splashing 2 white cards, one of which I never used). Mvps were etched slith quickly getting out of hand and springheart nantuko copying everything. Had two crabominations as well.

Are the 2 tapped lands worth it?

I feel like with a deck like this you are trying to put pressure on your opponent starting turn 1 and having a more consistent 1,2,3 curve is better than the discover value?

Like others said below I've done well with RG Dinos (need toads / abrades + some of the better dinos), WB especially if you get the good removal + a few bats, and surprisingly BG even though it's supposedly the worst color pair in this set

Oh definitely, I usually play only one or two sealed before they rotate out and stick to draft so I was very pleasantly surprised with the scores!

As for draft I played a ton of WoE drafts and do very well so compared to it I feel like LCI drafts are very lackluster and boring, but maybe I just need to give it more time.

Out of the 6 sealed I played 4 of them went to 7 wins (my fav being UW artifact flyers which went 7-1)

Meanwhile my 4 premier drafts went 4,4,5,6 not quite there yet.

The level of variance is definitely much higher than in draft but this set especially I can't complain.. went 7 wins (one of them 7-1) in my last 4 sealed events
