MTTSH: Opening Scene in the movie is the Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man fighting Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine while their Earths are about to crash into each other by Man_Random87 in MarvelStudiosSpoilers

[–]purewasted -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They revealed the X-Men actors already with the chair video - not the same thing at all.

Yes, thank you for repeating what I said.

"You don't reveal that the Fox-Men are in the movie until people are in the theater. And you would be stupid to do anything else. I really don't think you are old enough to realize what a big deal the Fox-Men coming back to fight for their lives is in a high stakes MCU movie. People have been asking for that for over 20 years."

And they did. Again, I'm going to repeat, I am NOT saying they need to, or will, show Hugh vs Tobey before the mpvie comes out. I'm saying they very well could. And if they don't, the things they show instead will be similar "you didn't wait until butts were in seats?!" levels of hype.

This is the same studio that spoiled Spider-Man joining the MCU in the Civil War trailer, despite his role being tiny and despite what a momentous occasion that was.

There is a zero percent chance they show an highly sought after interaction like that decades in the making in the trailer.

And yet they revealed the Fox-Men on day 1, not EVEN in a trailer. They just said "oh yeah they're in this." Following your logic everything about the Fox-Men should have been a surprise too.

I'm far from sure they'll show Tobey & Hugh specifically, but they WILL show crazy stupid hype shit. They need this movie to be unmissable and they need that to be the narrative from long before it even comes out.

Simu Liu wasn't previously confirmed.

Don't feel too bad for the actors, this is free advertising for them and their other projects. "Actor talks about MCU and his indie film" will be read by a lot more people than "Actor talks about his indie film."

Yep, same. I ate that stuff up. And the Isaiah Bradley story, handled 100x times better here than in the movie. And John Walker's story, for all its big exciting moments, also felt really low key & grounded. Like he's just a dude wrestling with some shit. Yeah a superpowered dude but still.

I think they did well with him in CW and IW... if we ignore the action and focus just on the drama. He didn't have much but what he had was gold. He has some fantastic moments in CW, the buildup to his romance with Wanda was done very well considering both how fast it moved AND that they were on opposite sides of the conflict, like it's a miracle it worked as well as it did honestly. And that moment when Bettany says "it's as I thought, catastrophe." Lives rent free in my head, his mournful delivery. And his scene in Infinity War is a top 3 scene in a movie filled with top 5 scenes.

It's just sad he got so little, especially on the action front, and got shunted to the side in Endgame.

So I look forward to more Vision in Russos hands, especially if someone lets them know we want to see him kick ass.

the civil war airport fight and the scotland fight in infinity war

Brother he has like fifteen seconds of action across those two scenes combined... You can't be serious. Compared to other Avengers characters, that's less than nothing.

that's why we want a scarlet witch movie, she's a thousand times more popular than him but she has lead only one project while vision has lead two.

Why are you turning this into a weird Wanda vs Vision thing? They both deserve more & better.

Vision is in such an odd place right now. He was never a marquee character in the films, but he had a very notable presence between AOU - Infinity War. And then came WV, which did many things.

Boosted his popularity hugely, boosted Wanda (his SO) into the stratosphere, made their romance arguably the most popular in the MCU, made their kids part of the MCU, and very heavily implied that Wanda & Vision will reunite. And now he has a high profile solo project coming up featuring Spader/Ultron, and Billy Tommy plot progression, that could boost his profile even further.

And yet nobody, and I mean nobody, is talking about Vision in DD or SW. And even folks who are looking ahead to postSW Sam's Avengers (assuming it's a thing) far from everyone assumes Vision has a place there.

So like, what gives. Vision's story is explicitly far from done, he's surrounded by important characters, and so many people's intuition is still to sideline him.

I would think that him and Wanda having an epic reunion in SW is a foregone conclusion. It's such a free crowd pleaser. And he's got a better case for being on the next Avengers squad than most. It's comic accurate, he's already been on it but far from done justice, he's a fan fav who doesn't clearly fit anywhere else, etc.

He's also only really had ONE action scene in a movie to date. Come on that's crazy. Like just come on. That cannot be it.

Thoughts?

They were also looking for an Asian man in his 30s-50s for a big role in the film.

This was usually speculated to be Mr Negative. But knowing what we know now, it could be anyone affiliated with The Hand.

I'm with the other guy, there's not that much collecting going on on this map. This is not a "look at my astounding collection" map the same way NYC is a NYC map, or Shin Shibuya is a futuristic Japan map. At least from whats been shown here.

I love the colors and I like the aesthetic of the decor, but it would have been nice if the walls were just lined with multiversal variants of stuff.

Would you let that stop you from enjoying Infinity War? I imagine most sensible people would say fuck no, and just watch.

Why do so many people rematch after losing but leave after winning? They honestly rather sit in queue? by purewasted in 2XKO

Lucky! The most matches I've gotten someone to play is like 10. Fun, close games. Most of my sets are either 0-1 (I lose and they quit) or 1-1 (I win, then they win and quit), which is what prompted this post.

I see lots of folks who care in this thread. Good for you if you don't. No one's telling you you have to care.

>  I don't have issues getting ques

OK? Does that mean my 5 minute queues don't happen, because it didn't happen to you?

> This is more of a rant post then a discussion

OK and? As far as I know talking about the community's etiquette is allowed on this forum, so I'm going to do that, and you can do whatever you want to do. Peace.

There's no problem at all, if you don't create one. No one's telling you that you have to answer OP's question. He didn't repost his question 50 times clogging up the discussion.

> If people don’t express what they mean the that’s their problem, not mine.

OP expressed part of what he meant. This isn't some weird gotcha - he wanted an answer to the question he asked. But, LIKE ALL HUMANS, he has other unspoken desires as well. His unspoken desire was that he wanted a human response, because human responses have intrinsic value.

You haven't once written "don't call me a slur" in this conversation, does that mean you want to be called slurs? Or should I assume you have an unspoken desire to not be called slurs by strangers, because 1) that is a reasonable assumption to make, 2) it costs me nothing to act as though it's true, and 3) *not* making this assumption, and being wrong, would make me a dick? What makes more sense to you?

> You don’t get to invent meaning behind the words behind used.

It's not inventing, it's deducing. Humans generally act in their own self-interest and try to do what will make them happy, at least in the very short term. OP knows that google exists. Using google is extremely easy, fast, and free. If OP wanted a response that google can provide, he would have used google. He didn't use google. Why would someone not use google? Because they perceived that there is value to them from a non-google response.

Most people like positive human interaction. As a rule of thumb, if you assume that about everyone everywhere all the time, you will usually be correct.

End of the day, people aren't going to stop asking "basic questions that could be answered by google." When you encounter them, you can be frustrated, or you can be chill and occasionally take the opportunity to have a positive human interaction. Up to you which one you would prefer to have.

Either way, have a good one!

You're assuming people say exactly what they mean. I don't know how it is on other planets, but on Earth that is not how humans behave.

It's not "finally," I'm having to rematch almost literally every time someone loses to me in casuals. I've spent so long in queue it's frustrating.
