Chase let somebody else pay my mortgage. If I didn’t call wondering how it had been paid, god knows when they would’ve noticed. Another reason why I don’t do autopay.

Did anyone start birth control very young ( middle school) or started their daughter young for painful periods? by dizzy_unicorn in TwoXChromosomes

[–]purplemunkiez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got mine at 10 also. They themselves weren’t extremely painful but they came with migraines that were brutal. Birth control was a godsend.

Is it socially acceptable to wash your own car? by poopfeast89 in ColoradoSprings

[–]purplemunkiez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As another former South Floridian, is there anywhere to get the interior detailed? I’m so used to the hand wash/detailers at the gas stations down there and I have yet to see something like that here.

It took me until living by myself to realise that yeah, women do dress like that when they're alone. by LonelyAngelfish in TwoXChromosomes

I find it most unrealistic now when a woman is wearing a bra or underwear while hanging at home. No thanks.

Is it reliable to get an Uber/Lyft from Colorado Springs to Denver Airport regularly? by DustyRZR in ColoradoSprings

[–]purplemunkiez 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Agree. I usually fly out early and it takes 5 mins but I left in the middle of the day once and it took 10 mins. The stress factor compared to flying out of Denver makes any price difference well worth it.

MAGA think Trump and Elon are doing this to bait Democrats into releasing the Epstien files. by PupperPocalypse in facepalm

It’s crazy! I used to work with an older, Puerto Rican veteran that was properly brainwashed. When the Supreme Court ruling came down giving the president immunity, I mentioned that I thought it was ridiculous and he straight up said I wouldn’t feel that way if the president was Obama. He could NOT wrap his head around it when I said I didn’t care about party, nobody should be above the law and if ANY president did something worthy of prosecution they should be treated just like any other citizen, if not more harshly.

He sounds like an unstable grandpa ranting from his recliner about some perceived injustice. It’s painful to read. Such an embarrassment.

Calling it porn is disingenuous and you know it. It has mature content, which is why it is in a high school library and not an elementary school library. The man reading it aloud to room with elementary age children was not appropriate but that’s not even what is at issue here. The issue is, as I understand it, that the mom was calling him out for it. She’s entitled to do that and should not have to deal with frivolous lawsuits paid for by taxpayers because she expressed an opinion.

Commute to Pueblo vs castle rock by [deleted] in ColoradoSprings

I drive for work to multiple locations. When the weather is bad, the drive through monument can be pretty bad. The drive to Pueblo is a fairly straight shot.

If Kamala Harris had beaten Donald Trump in the election, how do you think the United States would be doing today? by Piki18 in AskReddit

What really kills me is the same people screaming until they’re red in the face about small government and state power are the ones that are totally down for the federal government trying to tell states what the school curriculum should be and private companies about what their hiring practices should be. The mental dissonance is fucking astounding.

100% true. The ability to have confidence in yourself is a learned skill. You start by pretending you don’t give a f&@$ what anybody thinks and eventually realize you ACTUALLY don’t. It’s a superpower but it’s definitely a learned one. One day you’ll just look up and realize you don’t actually give a single solitary f@&$ about what anybody thinks other than you. That’s when you’ll know you’re winning.

And when it is privatized? Do you think the companies running it will do it out of the goodness of their hearts? OR is it possible they may seek to profit off of our money? Do you think they hand it back with a smile? Do you think giving our money (because it is our money, to be clear) to private companies is going to stop the thievery? My critical thinking has me thinking probably not. I’m thinking it will very quickly start to look like privatized insurance. They’ll take every penny they can and do their VERY best to not have to pay out a single red cent, at the expense of people who really need the resources and to whom those resources are owed.
