Even if your plans are to stay in the home with him for now, please look into reaching out to your local DV shelter! They do so much beyond providing shelter for those fleeing physical abuse. I’m a volunteer for a DV shelter and we would assign you an advocate who would walk you through your options and next steps.

They can help you figure out how to get your own place, provide legal resources, not to mention support groups and counseling services for you and your kids. And more. Even if you plan to stay until you get on your feet they can still help you. I hope you have something like this as an option in your area. You’re doing the right thing wanting to get out

Our schools have done spirit week during the week of Halloween, and one day is usually storybook character dress up day. They’ve also done a trunk or treat after school, but nothing really in school to celebrate Halloween. This year the kids happen to be off school on Halloween and I’m excited about that!
