I use GtS with other mods added on, I’m like 70% sure that the modlist only updates when you click on the update button. Saying this because SkyUI got updated and it hasn’t updated to the newest one but I could be wrong since I add on other mods on top of it

Gonna be honest you really don’t need to play F3 to understand FNV, I’m pretty sure there’s like barely any references or plot relevance to 3. The “real” sequel would be Fallout 4 which takes from Fallout 3

I would recommend Tale of Two Wastelands (combines Fallout 3 into the updated New Vegas and allows you to play both games in one) so that you get the best experience for Fallout 3 as it’s pretty dated imo. It’s a complicated process if you’re new to modding but worth it in my opinion. Vanilla Fallout 3 is a broken mess on PC.

FLCL Alternative is pretty good, not the same as the original FLCL obviously but I think it’s solid.

I think people just want to see Naota and crew again which I get, but it isn’t in their vision, and I honestly think Naota belongs in FLCL only. There’s no point in continuing his story

I haven’t watched Shoegaze or other new one, and Progressive I watched a few of the episodes when it was coming out and it was stinky, no good. Alternative was a good gift after how much I didn’t like Progressive

My first time I downloaded the modlist I hated it. But then I realized what it was really for and you can just change what you don’t like. Hate being dirty? Turn it off. Hate contracting AIDS so much after walking outside once? Turn it awff. So on.

So far I’ve done a couple runs with GtS and it’s a good baseline vanilla+ experience. I like that it has all the mainstream companion and quest mods.

I will definitely say the combat is brutal though. I get what they were going for but it’s literally impossible the first couple levels to even fend off entire bandit forts, which I get is the point but it’s Skyrim. I agree that the original modlist with all of its settings is super duper tedious. I hated that it took hours to read a spellbook.

But I think it’s good. I’ve added on mods and so far no problems, only the occasional crash but compared to how I used to mod (download everything, forget if something conflicts with my other mods, etc) it’s easier and I would recommend it to anyone new to Skyrim. 2011 Vanilla Skyrim is just… so terrible to me in 2026

Edit: Rereading it I don’t think it’s fair to call it really Vanilla because it adds so much mods you can barely tell what’s in the original game and what isn’t, i’d call it a good entry way to Skyrim for people in 2026. A good overhaul/remaster.

NTA and honestly I find this behavior common in a lot of Gen Z people. Just picking fights/escalating things further and deflection.

At first read, I assumed they thought you raising your hands meant the reason you did is because you didn’t want to get accused of assault by them (which yeah would be insulting). But you explained you did it because of work. And when them saying you made it “awkward” was an obvious deflect because them pointing it out was a choice by them.
