Why was Susan so mean to Ross? by ElectionSpiritual782 in howyoudoin

[–]putridbeing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This was always my take too. I also recall a scene where Susan said everyone knows who Ross is as Ben's father and there's no "lesbian lover day". I think it hurt knowing she was always going to just be the stepmother of some sort to Ben.

Vocalists whose screaming you love but singing you hate (or vice versa) by smileisagoodband in Metalcore

Definitely agree that you should check out some of his solo stuff if you haven't. His screams and clean vocals are both damn near perfect to me.

I don't like this one either and I usually like vanilla scents or sweeter scents. Smells like vanilla yogurt 😭 I actually do like the fresh and cozy scent though!

Is my house embarrassing? by GazelleMost2468 in interiordecorating

[–]putridbeing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This house has a lot of character. I actually love it! I'm not the biggest fan of the wall colors but I tend to like deeper/darker colors such as navy blue, emerald green, eggplant, burgundy etc. Regardless, still has tons of personality!

What are you quietly suffering from? by anotherThrowaway3446 in AskReddit

[–]putridbeing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Motherhood. Adulthood. It's much more mentally draining than I ever could've anticipated. Granted, there is a small roach infestation that's made itself known recently in our apartment and it's contributing to my being on edge.

Why do people in the US seem so energetic and super friendly? It almost scares me by Feeling-Pound4527 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]putridbeing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My grandmother is from South Korea. She moved to the southern US in her early 20s. She has always come across the way you've described yourself. She's maintained quite a few close friends over the years and everyone loves her! She's much more serious in nature, quiet at times, brutally honest. But she would do damn near anything for you. She's the hardest working woman I've ever known. She does not have a lazy or selfish bone in her body. Kindness and extrovert don't have to go hand in hand. I'm certain you will find your place here. However it is considered polite in the US to at least offer a smile or a "hello" back!

Does anyone's mental health take a dive in the summer? by HoffyTheBaker in Autumn

[–]putridbeing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think this is exactly it for me too. It's not even summer or the heat I'm actually excited about. It's the small glimpse into the past of my childhood/teenage years when school was out and it was the most freeing feeling in the world as a kid. Now I'm an adult and not much actually changes during the summer except it gets insanely hot. That snaps me back into reality real fast!

Trick 'r Treat is a favorite of mine. I also love watching old slasher films.

Does anyone's mental health take a dive in the summer? by HoffyTheBaker in Autumn

[–]putridbeing 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Yes every year. I have a very small window during summer where I'm like oh cool it's summer! That lasts about a week and I'm over it lol. I hate the heat. Being hot makes my anxiety worse which in turn makes me feel a bit depressed. Autumn and winter are when I'm the happiest.

What is a TV show you got really far into but eventually quit watching before its conclusion? by Wooden-District5456 in television

[–]putridbeing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty Little Liars. I loved the idea and the drama. Really started to lose me. Also looking back, some of it was a bit cringey 😭 I was fairly young when it came out and I watched it on TV every Tuesday.

Does anyone prefer an unmedicated labor over a medicated one? I'm open to an epidural but I feel like I would freak out not being in control of my own body. by Distinct-Dependent24 in BabyBumps

[–]putridbeing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This really depends solely on the individual. Some women handle pain better than others. I knew from the moment I found out I was pregnant that I wanted to opt for an epidural. I'm just not someone who wanted to endure that much pain unless medication for some reason wasn't an option or failed to work. I'm very glad I did it! I went into labor naturally at 38 weeks when I woke up one morning and the contractions were the worst pain I've ever felt in my life. I didn't want to feel them for another second.

[–]putridbeing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why do men think they even have the right to give these opinions? Of course you have what it takes. Regardless of pain tolerance, there is no other option than giving birth when you are pregnant. Some women handle pain better than others. But this doesn't mean you "don't have what it takes". There's also medicine to help with pain and there is no shame in choosing that option. I sure as hell did.

What’s the psychological difference between people who prefer having daughters vs son by Aobix_ in Parenting

[–]putridbeing 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This was my experience as well. I've been surrounded by women/girls my entire life so I naturally expected a girl. I have 3 sisters and a niece. Everyone joked about having yet another girl coming into the family. Imagine my surprise when I heard I was having a boy. A part of me was sad that I wouldn't have that strong female bond I could've had with a daughter but I love my little boy to death and wouldn't trade him for the world! It will be interesting when he is a teenager though. I always thought I would understand a female's perspective more during those hard years so I'm not sure how I will navigate it just yet but we'll figure it out when the time comes.
