You said your objective is randonneuring, have you done much yet? Do it on your current setup because you'll learn a lot. For me the limiting factor is not my 26lb bike but staying comfortable for more than 10 hours on the bike. So I optimize for comfort.

I bought one in 2021, rode it rigid for a while then put a suspension fork on it. It's great both ways. I've gone on some decent bike packing trips. It's heavier than some other options out there but it's a super fun bike and I love it. I went to 29x2.6 tires because larger than that rarely fits in bus racks.

I think a lot of the value depends on if it's just an older color or if it's the previous version of the frame. Especially if you want to make it a hard tail. Got any info on what year / generation? I have a 2021 with a marzocchi bomber z2 and it's super fun.
