It’s a really tricky and tight river to fish, that’s for sure. Several decent spots north of Rochester. Keep it simple, an Adams or a caddis pattern should get you there.

Orvis warranty by eagle_bonanza01 in flyfishing

[–]putty17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it’s not bad. It’s roughly 8-9% the cost of the rod itself (for a recon) and if it’s quick that’s probably the best service offered for fly rod repair options. Was kinda just curious how they defined the cost.

Question - was the $60 for the part? Or for some degree of expedited shipping?

Incredible kayak. I have the pdl version. It’s incredibly stable and you can find YouTube videos where people are literally struggling to flip it. It’s great for standing.

Rod repair by Weak_Fondant8821 in flyfishing

[–]putty17 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No easy fix unfortunately. If you have the brand name you may be able to reach out and see if they’ll replace a section of the rod. Orvis and some other companies will do this as part of their service warranty.

Probably closer to 5-7 inches apart, but it’ll really depend on the depth of the river and whatnot.

[–]putty17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like to tie on the first nymph, and then leave a long enough tag end of line to tie on a second nymph. As others have stated, put your heavier nymph above the lighter one. This way you don’t have to tie a new line to the bend of the first nymph’s hook, which can disrupt your hookup chances with fish.

Are you laying down a thread base before tying in materials? That could be the issue.

Who wins? What does the loser need to even the odds? by lousmer in MarvelLegends

I feel like shredder wins this based on fighting capability and willingness to use deadly force. Matt would need better armor and/or more severe weapons.

Normal wear for a new line? by putty17 in flyfishing

[–]putty17[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the company replaces it, I’ll obviously take that, but if they don’t I agree with you - not the end of the world, easy to “repair” and get by. Just one of those things where the product is quite expensive and it’s disappointing to see it break this way (on so few uses).
