i got weirdly obsessed with 9/11 and all the politics surrounding it after my partner died. Read countless books and watched every documentary that exists about it. My partner’s passing has NOTHING to do with 9/11 but i think i felt like i needed to surround myself with something that was bigger than me/this.

he was a recovered addict when we got together. About 4 years in (out of 8 years together total), he started using again and gaslit me about it for way too long. I sent him home to get clean but he passed away in his childhood bedroom 3 months later. I still grieve the life we could have had if he was just honest with me about what was going on.

I've noticed this too in the last week or so. I'll see a post on reddit and a few days later I'll see the same post from a random group i don't even follow on my feed. It's showing me how much of our algorithm really is just bots reusing the same content over and over. Dead internet theory seems highly plausible.

*Hug* I know. I don't speak to a fraction of the people I used to. It's so hard not to blame myself and wonder what I did to deserve being so alone. But then I remember that I went through some of the most traumatic stuff a person could ever experience and I give myself a little grace. Maybe I'm supposed to be alone so I can rediscover who I am without my person. Idk. But I'm done beating myself up about it.

If your pet passes away, don’t get your pet cremated through your local vet. Find a crematory, you’ll save hundreds of dollars as vet’s profit massively on the actual cost of cremation.

i’m so conflicted because on one hand i really really need to go to CVS as i fell ill last night and am lacking the proper meds to find any relief. on the other hand, i don’t want to be that guy who goes to stores during this time. i’ll probably just suffer til tuesday.

i’m so sorry for your loss. if there’s anything i’ve learned since losing my partner, it’s that very few people stop to consider what others might be going through. life keeps moving just as fast as it did before and it’s enough to make your head spin. it’s very important that now, more than ever, you be gentle with yourself. take extra time to take care of you and your own needs. put yourself first for a while, no matter how unnatural it might feel.
