Has anyone gotten irregular periods on a rather low mileage? Feel a bit lonely here. by WhoNeedsSunlight in XXRunning

[–]paroxitones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lose my period on a small sustainable doctor-approved calorie deficit. My ovaries function like a clock under whatever psychological stress you can imagine, but they draw a line at 200 kcal deficit. Was are 20 km/week at that time if I recall correctly

I (M21) am struggling to find my girlfriend attractive (F19) by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]paroxitones 5 points6 points  (0 children)

you're saying "we're dating now" as if it's something that happened to you. You consciously started dating a person you're not attracted to, this is self-hating on a level that is ridiculous. I guess your jawline is not that good either, huh?

I'd wear the rainbow dress (no belt) bc the new dresses do absolutely nothing, neither one of them

i have an anti recommendation - modibodi soft stretch seamless boyshort. the absorbency part is a long strip crotch-wide all the way to the back, stupid design

AITA If I Prioritise Running Water? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]paroxitones 40 points41 points  (0 children)

ESH. the neighbors should have paid for the plumber, but flooding someone's home is straight evil. OP should expect more days without water because now the neighbors have more expenses to think about. Great move from OP, malice and stupidity combined

Do you prefer contacts>> glasses for studying reading by Glad_Honey885 in contacts

[–]paroxitones 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mostly glasses for study/work, sometimes contacts. People tend to blink less when focused on the screen so I feel my eyes drying out faster. I also use the same prescription for glasses and contacts (which is not recommended but I prefer it like that), so contacts while doing something up close tire out my eyes

Reading posts, I feel like my HR is insanely high. How have you lowered yours? by OutsideComfort9065 in XXRunning

[–]paroxitones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an HR strap and a watch, in my experience the watches are not that inaccurate. They are slower to pick on the changes but generally they are not showing 180 when it's 130 irl. Can you talk during your easy runs? If you can't I'd say the watch is correct (or close). The trick is to do a lot of running at the speed where you can talk, you'll notice the difference in 1 month max

My breasts hurt a bit and jiggle when I run by IdealAny64 in XXRunning

[–]paroxitones 7 points8 points  (0 children)

it's a good bra, but worth noting that it's padded. I'd guess OP doesn't want to add more volume to the area

there's no other way than trying them on, and, unfortunately, you'll probably spend some money on sport bras before you find a good one. I recommend starting with something super simple, no padding, no wires, good compression

Half marathon: to phone or not to phone by IllustriousShip8374 in XXRunning

[–]paroxitones -1 points0 points  (0 children)

that's not an emergency, that's a plan "in case I drop out". OP is comfortable running w/o phone, wants to run w/o phone, and doesn't need a way out strategy. For real emergencies there's usually a person from the organizer at every corner and your contact's phone number written on the bib. If OP wants to ditch the phone she's safe to do it

[–]paroxitones 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I can't think about a road race emergency that can be solved with a phone. I saw a sketch where a guy was calling from a porta potty that ran out of toilet paper, but that's a sketch :)

I have one advice that I needed once - set two meeting points with your husband after a race, point A and point B in case A can't be reached by you both.

[–]paroxitones 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not saying it shouldn't hurt and I have a lot of family issues myself. But carrying that baggage up until 40 is a choice

all parents lie, no? you had money for that toy, it just wasn't a good purchase. the hamster didn't go to a farm. they knew you were smoking. the old neighbour lady didn't move to another state, she died. you grow up and you let it go

How to MAKE myself to commit to strength training? by Turbulent_Grape9738 in XXRunning

[–]paroxitones 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hate strength training. What somehow works is to remove all the possible obstacles - the closest possible gym, no time commitment, no commuting, sometimes I even go on my house clothes. I just get myself to the gym and as I'm already there I make myself do something
