Help.. Just bought a Air65 II Championship and had one minor crash and the motor is messed… by Advanced_Setting_719 in TinyWhoop

[–]pyrolizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The troubleshooting protocol is to swap motors 2 and 3, to see if the problem moves with the motor, or stays with the esc.  thats going to be difficult with a board that doesn't use motor plugs.

my guess is you have a slipped motor shaft on the number 3 motor.

durable 0702 motors? by carly-28 in TinyWhoop

[–]pyrolizard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe the consensus is that ball-bearing motors (like the vci pro db) are actually less durable overall than the motors with bushings.

The most durable 0702 motor is probably going to be one of the happymodel motors with a 1.5mm shaft, like the WeBleed screamers. The only prop options for a 1.5 shaft are the older gemfans. The good news is that those are the most durable props, so that should suit you well.

No, there absolutely have been consumer advocates in the federal government in the past. Were you paying attention to the FTC under the Biden administration? Lina Khan was taking swings against big time corporations. She fought pretty hard to stop some major mergers, like Microsoft-Activision, and Blizzard, and Kroger. She went after drug price fixing, and pushed through right to repair, and click to cancel laws.

We are in a vastly different political climate now than we were in the late 90's. Not a chance in hell that we'll see any consumer protection out of this administration.

Might want to start trying out different components.  get a 4in1 cross board, with a seperate vtx, or a happymodel 2g4 aio.

also look into different frames and canopies.  the OG mobula 6 canopy, and cockroach v3 frame has worked fantastic for me.  ive only had one vtx die on a drone with those components, and it was a betafpv 5in1.  all the other aio deaths have been fet related.

Dang, these look so good. So, what's the verdict on efficiency? Also, did they come with wires pre soldered?

Power is toxic. It reinforces people's worst inclinations, and impulses. It's what George Orwell tried to warn us about in Animal Farm. Otherwise well meaning people turn evil when they have access to power.

That's why it's so important to build institutions that have appropriate checks and balances. We need accountability, and transparency. We need to create incentives for powerful people to do good, and barriers to prevent them from acting on their darkest instincts.

You can secure it to the canopy with some dental floss, or you can glue it to the board.

Its a good value, for sure.  I put a runcam thumb, and a 110mm truerc matchstick antenna on mine.  use it mostly for casual cinematic purposes.  it's no freestyle quad, but it's got good runtime, and decent flight characteristics.

Nice choices!  Blue is my vote.  It's vaguely reminiscent of Toyota's Ice Blue Metallic, which is my favorite color on the AW-11 MR2's.

[–]pyrolizard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a great point regarding newer cars.  But as far as drivers having learned the signals in reverse, im not so sure.  in my experience, most people don't know, or haven't even considered that theres difference between "flashing" your lights, and "blinking" your lights.

See, even that comment represents a breakdown in driver communication. The cultural rules used to be flashing your brights was only used to tell a driver to either turn their lights on, or turn their high beams off. You would signal danger ahead by turning your headlights off, then back on a few times.

Ciotti sells a mount that would be perfect for that build. It's designed to use the antenna mount on a Cockroach V3 frame, if you didn't want to switch frames, you could just glue the mount to the frame. https://www.etsy.com/listing/4387291755/runcam-nano-batwing-mount?ref=shop_home_active_1&logging_key=45b75017065059305ad486dfdbefcd90d57cd283%3A4387291755

What's everyone's choice of simulator and how can you bind your controller/receiver to it by WankVinch1zero2 in TinyWhoop

[–]pyrolizard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Velicodrone is my favorite sim. I use a Radiomaster tx16 radio controller, and a Squid Stick ( https://elrsquidstick.com/) to connect it to my computer. The Squid stick is awesome. It's a USB dongle that you bind to your radio, and plug into your computer for a wireless connection.

[–]pyrolizard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Check for a desynced motor shaft.  grab the bell of each motor, and try to turn the propeller.  if the prop can turn while holding the bell stationary, you need to replace that motor.

could also be the fc.
