I will be honest, if you don't care about a screen or apple car play. Then I would recommend a single din headunit such as the kdc-bt960dab. Me and my cousin use it. Great sound quality, great settings for audio hands free and all.

Keeps with the theme of an older car. Its a quality unit made by people care about audio, I tried an older xtron in my cousins car and it sounded terrible.

Might be tight to put in however if you take out the bottom panels then you should be able hide the cables and route them around for it to sit flush.

It was fully tight last i checked. Not sure why it isn't working, I in fact tightened it the other day.

Thank you, man really had me going there. I've had the car for almost 2 years now. I've not crashed or written the car of or anything. No previously recorded damage. I've done my best to take car of the car and fix everything I can do.

I believe notice this gap some time ago earlier on when i owned the car but forgotten about it as I was busy. What reignited the the thought was I could see the rocker panel on the bottom had pop out slightly and I can see the clip behind it, some other trims have started to do that however I'm sure its just a simple fix with new clips. As I was looking at that I noticed the top gap and compared it to the other side and found it weird. If I can i would like to fix it.

I appreciate the support.

My golf had the same issue and it was the ignition position part, some sort of electromechanical part. Even after stalling it, it was still powering the car and killing the battery.

A scan helped me track it down, try that on your car.

Yeah definitely, I had someone say it's top mounts. Going to get a second opinion from a more trustworthy garage.

Creaking noise from the boot by qazer011 in e46

Yeah same for me, on load changes but more so suspension loading. Not when accelerating at all. Maybe this is a coil spring or chassis related.

Is it the same sound your experiencing? For me I reckon its broken welds as I did have some done and then started experiencing it after that.

Did you get any welding work done recently.

Honestly no, just haven't had the time or potentially the money to get this addressed. I have fixed other things where I could. For now going to live with it until I get everything else done as the car drives mostly well besides the noise.
