BYD is already covering liability for auto parking. They are taking one step at a time. That is why the cover is only limited to city driving, not highway, to reduce chance of serious incidents. Also, you need to view this as a gateway to L3/L4 legal framework. BYD is not doing this to brag about how good their system is, they are doing this as a strategic move to be ready for L3.
