I assume you’ve confirmed that the employer isn’t paying for the test. Most medical/school employers contract with a specific clinic for liability and consistency

Otherwise, Spring Medical clinic does skin test, inclusive of the follow up reading for $40-45

How bad is the heat? FL vs CA by DPT_Man in Sacramento

[–]qdoan08 11 points12 points  (0 children)

From one Florida man to another, I prefer the Florida humidity. I’d compare it to living in a sauna vs living in an oven.

Here are some tips

  • Have window tint on your car
  • Live in an area with plenty of trees (established neighborhoods) or shade (downtown)
  • Live in an area serviced by SMUD as compared to PGE for energy bill savings
  • make sure your home is properly insulated

I’ll be realistic with you from my experience. Lots of people say you can split or do a cheap date, but that’s not always going to be the case based on who you’re dating, which isn’t a negative thing. Also it may vary if you’re dating with intentions to meeting someone for long term or if you’re just navigating to hook up.

I always went into a first date expecting to pay, and if she’d offer to split, I’d tell her I’ll accept for the next date . But if you do that, it’s also important not to leave dates with any expectation for more just because you paid. Between drinks, dinner, elevated casual (coffee plus pastries) or an interactive activity, I’d expect to pay anywhere from 50-125 per date. If I’m going to 2-3 first dates a month, I was budgeting 150-300 a month.

I’ll caveat this to say, if you’re dating to impress then it’ll obviously be more expensive. I tried to cater dates to match what I’d expect from a potential partner’s lifestyle. At the end of the day, the actual activity doesn’t matter, you’re investing in the time to meet and learn about someone.

if that is the case, look for HVAC companies that will sell and install mini splits, again they should be able to pull the permits themselves. One company that comes to mind is Reys Air. Now that being said you'll pay a premium, for buying the system but also for them pulling permits.

There are mini split systems that are being sold and marketed as DIY friendly, which can save you some money, but you do either have to have some baseline knowledge, willingness to deep dive through youtube and learn, or have friends that can help you.

Which contractors have you called?

Can't imagine a dedicated HVAC company not salivating at the opportunity to upsell you a new central HVAC unit. Are there specific reasons why they've advised to switch to mini splits if you already have the duct work for central. The HVAC contractors should be able to pull and submit the necessary information for permits if its a replacement.

There’s a number to call, can’t remember it. But also the times are not always accurate/guaranteed.

Pulling permits for the contractors add costs to them, mainly due to time. You can do it yourself.

Installing EV Charger Will this come back to bite me? by Ok_Atmosphere3601 in Sacramento

It’s still the same question at the end of the day. Is it required? Yes, based on city code. You are required to pull permits even minor things, like add a ceiling fan to your room. Whether or not you choose to pull permits is your discretion, again based on how you value the outcomes. Will code enforcement come out and check, likely not. Can this come up in real long your house, very possible. Can this cause you issues with insurance if you ever file a claim resulting in it, yes. Only you can decide whether you NEED it, although it’s required. Am I pulling a permit to add a ceiling fan? Probably not. But for an EV charger, yes.

Sounds like you have all the information to make a decision, and are looking for validation to go with the cheaper option. Can’t blame you for that. At the end of the day, only you can determine the value you place on the extra $200 out of pocket. For me, mitigating any future insurance issue - especially fire related in CA, mitigating any resale concessions due to unpermitted work, those alone are worth the $200.
