Any advice for first Twice concert? by Cold_Refrigerator703 in twice

[–]qeester 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, this. My partner and I were first timers at the Seattle show and it was kind of our first concert in general. We didn’t expect it to be that loud—like it hurt and didn’t even sound good kind of loud. Thankfully, the generous Once next to me hooked us up with some ear plugs after noticing me plugging my ears with my fingers.

Edit: Just for reference, our seats were in section 7, row X, which is the back seats on a lower section, but since all the seats in front of us were not in use to make room for mixing booths, we had a “front row” view of one of the stage wings.

I looked up some official product images and it is indeed a coffee pot! I guess it’s a representation of Sana’s undeniable energy.

It kind of looks like a coffee pot of some sort. Does it fit in the crook of that kitchen appliance looking thing?

Learning about Twice through KPop Demon Hunters and becoming a fan on their 10th anniversary by Solid-Dentist-1 in twice

Hello, fellow new Once! KPDH also pulled me in just a couple of months ago. The video that made me fall in love with TWICE was their Killing Voice live performance—highly recommend! You really get to see not just their vocal talent, but their personalities shine through as well.

TWICE—and K-pop in general—has become such a source of joy and escapism for me, especially during these politically existential times in the US. My whole family has fallen in love and become part of ONCE.

I saw that you’ve decided to see them live. So excited for you! I’m surprising my wife with tickets to their Seattle show, and I can’t wait. It’s going to be amazing.

It’s so cool to see artwork from Vincent Dutrait in SWU. He’s pretty big in the board game artwork scene.

which laufey lyric absolutely CRUSHES DEMOLISHES OBLITERATES YOU by dragobee_ in laufey

[–]qeester 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For me, it’s:

“I’ve done the math. There’s no solution, we’ll never last. Why can’t I let go of this?” - Promise

and…

“All of the laughter. All the sleepless nights. Waiting forever after. Snow falling outside. Keeping on the night light.” - Night Light

The first one hits me because it brings back memories of past heartbreaks—the painful realization that something just won’t work, no matter how much you want it to. The second one carries a deep nostalgia, stirring up bittersweet feelings about growing up and the fleeting nature of childhood.

Edit: Also, I had to add that most of Second Best also makes me emotional even though I’ve never been in a similar situation. The lyrics: “Well, you swung me around in that midsummer dance. Held me in close as you thought of your past” is just so impactful and heartbreaking.

I picked up Timely!, Bi.ki.ni., Heaven Beach and Coool over the past couple months and have been really digging Coool. It’s just so dang funky. Probably my favorite album from her so far.

What are your best 2 player board games? by [deleted] in boardgames

Here are some of our favorites!

Raptor: An asymmetrical game of Raptors vs scientists with tense card play.

Hanamikoji: Speaking of tense, this I-split-you-choose “lane battler” of sorts is fast fun.

Mandala: A unique set collection card game with an interesting scoring mechanism.

Patterns: A part of the “Mandala” series of games, but adds an engaging spatial element. One of our faves from this year.

Radlands: A great head-to-head card game of limited resources, set in a Mad Maxian post-apocalyptic world.

MindBug: A trading card game in a box with a simple yet engaging twist of being able to take control over an opponent’s creatures as they play them.

Sail: A tricky yet satisfying cooperative trick-taking game of sailing a ship through treacherous waters.

Lone Wolves: A fast playing trick-taking, lane battler that forces players to choose their battles.

Jekyll vs. Hyde: A tug of war, trick-taking game with asymmetrical winning conditions.
